    Hi All,

Recently purchased a smoothie maker and have been having a smoothie every morning.
Make same one every morning with banana, frozen forest fruits pineapple glenisk low fat organic yogart and small dash of orange juice.
So the question is - to me this is all good but is it really? It counts for 3 fruit portions, but is it bad to have them all at the one time?

Home made smoothies are most likely the healthiest smoothies you can get.
Simply because you know exactly what's going into them, unlike the ones you buy from a shop or smoothie bar.

3 portions of fruit seems fine to me, especially if the smoothie counts for your breakfast. I would try use fresh fruit as appose to frozen tho, doesn't make much difference, I just find it tastes a lot better :)

You're making the sugars more concentrated but its fruit sugars but as long as your other meals are fine a few pieces of fruit is not going to hurt (except for the OJ I would go without it as its just a dash) so I wouldn't get hung up on it and its only two portions of (small portion or berries) fruit really with yoghurt (as long as sugar is not the first or top 4 ingredients as the fruit will sweeten it up anyway) so it sounds like a really good alternative to shop bought or home made with unnecessary ingredients.

Imo theres enough foods to be avoiding I will never make fruit one of them personally, as long as portion control is there then I really don't see it being such a big deal even though on D&N most people will go on about porridge or eggs for breakfast you have to find something that you want to eat.

Any product that contains actual fruits, juice and a small amount of dairy cant be bad for you in my opinion.

If you are looking for somewhere to buy ingredients for making smoothies at home you should check out Raw Food and Beverage Solutions. They deliver all around dublin and are really competative.

stop bumping threads to advertise what seems like your own company or a company you are working for...

    Seriously....????

Bumping threads that are nearly a year old just makes it more annoying.
