With a game vs Villa in 4 days, squad rotation will have to come into play

    Possible Line up
    De Gea
    Rafael Rio Evans Evra
    Valencia Carrick Scholes Young
    Chico Rooney

Id hope to see some cleverley and possibly paul pogba pending on score.

    Prediction: 3-0 United win

    Any possible Wigan lineup?

Would be delighted with 3 points. Wigan actually doing well recently and were literally robbed vs Chelsea. 0-1.

Can't see many changes from Stamford Bridge,

Al Habsi,Boyce, Alcaraz, Caldwell, Figueroa, Beausejour, Maloney, MacArthur, McCarthy, Moses, Di Santo.

I have a feeling Diame may get a start this time around, or even Jordi Gomez.

Predicted Wigan to get something at SB and how unlucky they were, I actually expect them to get something from this tonight. Playing for their lives I think they can surprise Utd tonight.

United have been keeping clean sheets recently and we have several players popping up with important goal, Evans, Rooney, Valencia, Young, etc.

I think Utd will concede tonight but they will be too strong for Wigan, 1-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,470 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

this is one of the trickier ones left for United.

win this and it really is plain sailing.

i reckon Rio and Scholes have to be rested for this OP.

    2-0 United though IMO.

a goal in the first 20 minutes, Utd sit back, Wigan make it difficult, can't score, and United hit a second goal on the counter.

Wigan have a knack for upsetting big teams but their track record against United isn't good, don't think they'll upset too much (hope I'm wrong though).

I'm hoping Jordi Gomez and Di Santo don't start, I'd much rather see Diame and Sammon or possibly even Rodallega if he's fit in there.

    Sammon? He is awful.

I'd rather we wait and rest players against Villa.

I'd like to see the same starting XI from the weekend except Chico in for Welbeck and possibly Nani in for young.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,222 ✭✭✭✭Will I Amnt

Much prefer to watch us play away lately.
The football is far more appealing and we are getting the results.
Wigan will prove one of the trickier ones though, hopefully 3 points but no great shock if it's not.

    Sammon? He is awful.

Owner of the best nickname ever.

Sammon of College. (from his days playing with UCD)

Actually a bit nervous about this one. Wigan do play some lovely football and have some decent players. I`m sure they`ll have a fair bit of possession tonight.

Their defense is beyond awful though and sooner or later you gotta fancy Utd to pick it apart.

Hope to see as strong a team as possible. Scholes may be rested after playing at the weekend. Although I`d like to see Cleverely and Nani play, their lack of games recently would make me nervous seeing them both start.

I'm going to guess that Rio, Welbeck and Scholes drop out and Smalling, Hernandez and Giggs or Cleverley come in. But that's just a guess.

I feel sure that Valencia will start, so if Nani plays it will be on the left.

    de Gea
    Rafael
    Smalling
    Evans
    Evra
    Valencia
    Carrick
    Cleverley
    Nani
    Rooney

    Hernandez

    4-0.

Should be a good game, last few times we've played them I've said how they wouldn't exactly roll-over, and they usually do well against the top sides, and we go on to kill them. So more of the same please. Hard game, they won't roll.......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

If United field a weakened team, I think Wigan will get a result, 1-1. If United field a full strength team, then 2-0.

Call me superstitious but shouldn't you be doing the same this time???
I'll be blaming you if we drop points :pac:
    Edit:didn't read last line :)

I think it will be a draw tonight.

I think Fergie will make a number of squad selections that will leave us perplexed, and we will drop points as a result.

    De Gea

    Jones---Smalling--Evans--Evra

    Nani
    Giggs---Carrick--Park

    Rooney--Hernandez

Roberto Martinez has said that Wigan have already appealed the red card that they are going to get tonight.

    I'm here all week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,123 ✭✭✭Backstreet Moyes

Although Wigan are playing well lately i cant see anything but a United victory. They are very poor at the back and play a high defensive line. With Rooney and Valencia in form and if Hernandez starts i can see goals. Also United have not conceded in a few games. Wigan are quite open and i can see Valencia's pace on the break causing them lots of problems. Just hope i dont jinx it.

I'll take 3 points. Don't care if it's 1-0 or 5-0 at this stage. The win is what's important.

Happy enough with that line up, would have preferred Cleverley instead of Giggs.

Hoping he'll get enough games for a medal if it happens.

I see you're in Clondalkin. What's the Laurels like for watching a game? I usually go to The Waterside...

Happy with that line up. Going for 3-0 United. Perhaps 3 extremely controversial goals just to wind everyone else up.

Me too. Don't want him in there but he's done the business vs Wigan at the business end of the season before so I'm hoping he can do the same again!
