Hi All - Good to meet ya!

Looking to "change my life!", Looking to get fit and toned, Never was really into excercise, Im not fit, im 35 years old and 11.9st (Male), Need to change for my confidence, Not happy with how i am (Reffered to as the stick man with the pot belly).

Im a member of a Gym (I signed up and have not been once in 18 months) and have access to it as its close to home, Im a smoker and love coffee, Going to kick the smokes but hoping to keep the coffee!

Cant really afford to loose any weight on chest and arms or legs, was looking for advice on foods or suppliments i can take to go with a gym routine (im hoping you can help with) and i can turn my life around.

i need to do this for me, I need a confidence boost but i need help as i dont know where to start!, Im afriad if i dont gram this by the balls now i never will....

If any of you out there are personal trainers and have reasonable rates or would like to use me for a "before + After" project drop me a PM

Again, Good to meet ya all

If you're looking for coaches/trainers, it'd be helpful to say where you are so you don't get bombarded by a bunch of randomers who just see you as a cash cow!!

From a weight loss perspective, coffee is ok once you're not lashing milk, cream and sugar in. It's not good if it's impairing your sleep (get 8+ hours a night) and probably isn't great if you're "addicted" to it, but in the grand scheme of things there's worse.

From a sustainability perspective, I've seen way, way, way too many people go at things all guns blazing for a month, fall off the wagon and then rebound to a worse condition than when they started. You need to find a form of exercise and style of eating that you can follow long term. Things you enjoy and food you like the taste of more than anything.

As for where to start, go out for a 30 minute walk. Turn off the TV, turn off your computer, take 30 minutes out of your lunch break if you're in an office. Do that, then write down all the foods you've eaten today and everything you've drank on here tonight so people can see where you're starting from.

...and tbh just looking at things yourself in a list format will probably be a bit of a "hmm... I really shouldn't have eaten X/Y/Z" sorta thing.

    Thanks Hanley for the reply
Just a bit more background - i had quit smoking for 8 months and put on a stone in weight and i was happy with how that looked and how i felt, Im planning on quitting again (Was meant to be today but im weeeeeak), I was planning on putting a Gym routine around quitting etc and managing the weight gain, I see myself as underweight at the moment, I will post tonight with my food for the day and activity for the day, Thanks again
