WWE Extreme Rules 2012 poster features Kane for April 29 pay-per-view event at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.

    Promo

No matches made yet but I expect a rematch from Mania for Punk and Jericho maybe in a submission or ladder match for WWE title

I think this is the perfect show for a good ol' fashioned sit down debate between the two. Let them solve their problems with their words instead of violence. :D

Didn't catch last weeks Smackdown yet, who's #1 contender for Sheamus, Del Rio is it?

only two Raws to go, and only 1 match announced so far?
get ready for lowest buyrate ever Vince

Vince is banking on Lesnar being a huge draw on his return to the ring. Thought they'd wait for a few more months for him to return to action, hope he gets in plenty of in-ring training beforehand.

I do think Lesnar will draw a good number, plus a potential Jericho/Punk re-match should be appealing. Hopefully without that stupid DQ stipulation it may even turn out to be a better match then their Mania match.

B-PPVs don't sell well no matter what big star is on it. Getting an extra 50,000 buys is a waste when you could get an extra 150,000 at SummerSlam or 2-300,000 at Mania!

But sure I'm not complaining getting to see lesnar wrestle in a few weeks! Maybe he'll injure cena beforehand so they can hype the match for longer. Backlash is a waste.

Daniel Bryan vs Sheamus 2 out of 3 falls for the World Heavyweight Championship has been added to the card. I might actually order this event now but if the rematch lasts 18 seconds I will never order another wwe ppv again.

Haha with each fall lasting 9 seconds? :D

    I wouldn't be completely surprised!

Looking forward to Sheamus v Bryan after the shambles of Wrestlemania. Complete farce for both fans and the guys themselves.

Where is Sheamus' fine for attacking the ref heading story wise. Seems to stick out a bit to me, not playing into anything else at the moment.

    Theme Song for Extreme Rules

f*ck yes!! finally back to some good music for a change! Big Shinedown fan - alot better than that Flo Rida tw@!

After Summerslam I said I am not buying any more PPvs except mania.

I only bought that for Cena v Punk - the way HHH made the count for the pin, Nash getting involved followed by the Del Rio cash in was a huge let down. I paid to see a conclusive end to Punk v Cena to re-establish the WWE title.

It never happened and it was made even worse when we never got a proper conclusion to ANY of the storylines that the ending could have produced.

But yet, Lesner rerturn, Jericho v Punk and Bryan v Sheamus has me really conflicted about what to do!

Yeah that's a really good song, akin to the type of PPV theme they had every month 8-12 years ago.

It's also quite apt really as it would be ridiculous having some teeny hip hop song for a PPV that Brock Lesnar is headlining. Common sense has prevailed.

Yeah I have to say, this PPV is shaping up very nicely and with the exception of Taker/HHH, it looks like it could be better than Wrestlemania :D

    - Jericho/Punk - without the DQ stip which took away from their Mania match.

    - Sheamus/Bryan - 2 out of 3 falls, should be given 25-30 minutes.

    - No Flo-Rida, Spud Gun Kelly, or celebrity women (although she was Greek, and gorgeous!).

    - No 'America the Beautiful' being sung at the beginning.

    - BROCK LESNAR!!!

Yep, i'm really looking forward to this show.

Charisteas, do you work for Sky? You could charge them commissiom for that sales pitch, now I really want to see the PPV.

Can you be counted out of an extreme rules match usually?

I always found it funny that extreme rules generally mean no rules.
If they really wanted the rules extreme it should be like No restholds, 5 second count outs, winner is the first person to high five everyone in the front row.

So will this "Extreme" rules ppv be that extreme? Can we expect some blood or is it just another pg show?

No planned blood anyway, even for Extreme Rules they stay PG!

HA HA HA HA!! I can only imagine Russo creaming himself at the thought of promoting a match without restholds lol

    PPV card so far:

Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena - Extreme Rules Match

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Daniel Bryan - 2-out-of-3 Falls Match

WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho - Chicago Street Fight

Add Kane and Orton to that soon enough.

if they have an announcers table match Kane is a cert to win.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

Is there a type of gimmick match where Kane & Orton could search the arena trying to find someone that cares about their rivalry or matches. The first one to find someone who cares wins.

If they put that match on last it could end up like Halloween Havoc 98

so with only the go-home shows left, they have 3 matches, two of which are Wrestlemania matches, and the other replacing ringrusty Rock with even more ringrusty Brock.
    well done WWE

So what's the difference between a Chicago Street Fight and an Extreme Rules match? Or a no-DQ match for that matter?

Personally, I think in a Street Fight the guys should come out wearing street clothes. I know its a small thing but at least it differentiates it a bit. Makes it seem a bit grittier.

    A classic example here

You're underestimating how potentially great the Sheamus/Bryan and Punk/Jericho rematches could be, expect both to exceed their Mania matches.

I think the problem is the lack of thought they appear to have put in to the show. Three matches and two of them are rematches from the previous PPV. If you're going to announce so few matches, they need to be something new, or big in order to create interest.

Meh, the PPV after Mania is nearly always a re-run, and I feel this isn't quite as bad as usual.

Bryan vs Sheamus didn't really take place at Mania. Provided they get more than 19 seconds, the match can only be an improvement.
Jericho vs Punk should be a completely different match to their Mania one given the No-DQ stip and how personal it has supposedly gotten.

On top of that, the real draw, story-wise, is Brock vs Cena; is it going to live up to the hype? Is it going to be a train-wreck? Either way, it's potentially the most interesting match-up you've got all year.

a WWE.com video hinted at a Divas' Championship match between Beth Phoenix and Nikki Bella. coincidentally both Nikki and Brie's contracts expire the Monday after the PPV. i guess the only excitement to get out of this would be the possibility of Kharma re-debuting

and i want me a proper Tag Team Championships match. Primo and Epico vs The Usos, Hawkins/Archer, Kidd/Baretta, anyone please

    Hawkins/Archer

Archer has been gone since November 2010.
