When are you too old to enjoy club /dance music, should you just stop listening when you reach a certain age ? What is that age and who defines it ? The reason I ask is because I am dying to go to see Swedish House Mafia in the Park but not one of my friends will come with me and wouldn’t be seen dead at it . Im 39 , am I OVER AGE ?

Yes, you're at that age where you should only go to ABBA tribute acts and Take That. Sorry. :pac:

    Sigh...

Actually OP, your question is like that of a 15-year-old, so don't worry about being too old for lots of things.

The day society dictates what music I am to like, is the day....................,,something.

You are into whatever kind of music that you're into. Age isn't necessarily a factor.

Never heard of them but go! Age can stick it up it's hole. It's all a state of mind.

It doesn't matter what age you are - I saw a hardcore elderly couple at a Green Day concert 2 years ago. I hate club/rave music and I'm just 20. Age doesn't dictate your taste!

Jack Leslie went clubbing in Ibiza in his 80s. Feck what other people think, do what you enjoy.

My dad to see leftfield in the pod the last time he played with my sister! He was 60. Age is nothing. Party on people!

You are never too old for club music.

It's a better bet to assume your mates won't go to the Swedish House Mafia because they are **** tbh.

    In your (and my opinion).

The older I get, the less I care about what other people think. Do it.

I feel like I am a bit too. Still more of a rocky/indi/pop chick to be honest than dance music unless it good!?

Well it's understandable to not go if you've nobody to go with, but there isn't an age you should stop listening to/enjoying a type of music.
Think of those people who were 18 in 1965 still rocking out to Zeppelin - I think it's great!

As a complete reverse to that, I'm in my late 20s and I've been told I'm about 20 years too young to be a big Rush fan...

Im 40 next year, would also love to go see SHM too.
My teens are mortified when I drive with the windows down and dance music blaring..Apparently im so uncool..:D

No doubt the audience will be of the younger variety at the SHM, although at outdoor events generally the vibe is more inclusive than in a club. You could also try Forbidden Fruit in June - with headline acts such as New Order and Leftfield, there will be a more eclectic crowd (as in some older bods!) There are plenty of dance acts at FF - Booka Shade, modeselektor, factory floor etc. So you will be well catered for. Anyway I reckon, go for it girl, have fun
