Hi Guys, if anyone needs it here is the latest arive 120 combo firmware with built in free to air channel list . As always please read the "how to guide" and follow it to the letter as you run the risk of damaging the box otherwise . Other than a new boot up screen I don't see any real difference so far so its not worth upgrading unless you have a reason to.

The How To file is not clear about how to update the channel list.
    This is what it says.......

Due to fact that new software don't contain any user data base (channel list), as last step you have to check antenna settings and search satellite or upgrade receiver with desired channel list.

So hows do i get a channel list in?

So, I won't need to do a sat search or a channel search or anything?
    It will all be there?
    Terrestrial channels as well?

The channel list is already in there, I don't know how to elaborate further

No, this is beacuse terrestrial channels using different frequencies in different areas so its not possible to have a list that works everywhere. It takes only a min or two to scan these in any case.

    Thanks Tony,

Any idea why I can't find the Saorview channels?
I do find them but there is no Sound or video.
There is an identifier as K_Express 6A in brackets.

Is there a setting I need to change? Something simple?

    cheers

Is your aerial ok and are you carrying out an automatic or manual terrestrial scan ?

Nobody on this forum seems to be, Tony.
    Thanks for your time nonetheless.

Check the saorview website and find the transmitter(s) closest to you and their channel number.
Instead of automatic, select Manual search and put in the ch number of the transmitter.
You should see a strength and quality bar and it'll register depending if you've put in the right ch number.
Hit search once you've done this.
If you're not receiving anything at all, check all your connections are good, any devices that may have terrestrial loop thru are plugged in and any distribution amps, psu's are plugged in and operating.

It turns out that if I do a factory reset of the box and do a search for DTT first it finds all the saprview stuff. If the terrestrial search is done after the sat search it finds all the channels not as DVB T but as this strange K_EXPRESS 6A and there is no video or audio.

A strange new bug in 2.18B2 I would suggest. This did not happen in the previous version.
I should have taken Tony's advice and not bothered upgrading.

    Thanks for the help

I'll have to take your word on that! :)

Can anybody save me some time and point me in the right direction to report the bug to Ferguson? Or is there a thread of known bugs/issues?

    Google translates it as .....
Posted: Tue Jan 17, 2012 5:57 pm The problem with programs
Ariva 210 and I bought a directional antenna, wyszukało feeds me, but when I turn it on it says no signal or signal when it finds that it writes encrypted, and when I go to channel 33 (pull from Olsztyn) is the signal strength is 83% quality 93%. And the programs do not receive. What to do?
    K_EXPRESS 6A, AM 5700 V0-so called package of channels

hi guys got my ariva 120 last November for my sister inlaw and was told some of the channels are missing. is this channel list upto date ??? and do i need to do a firmware or can i just update channel list ???

    cheers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,906 ✭✭✭✭Kristopherus

What channels are missing? It just could be that some of them move to different transponders. If that is so, then its just a matter of re-tuning them. Go to kingofsat to get the updated frequencies.

Is it possible there will be an update to enable the 120 to play avi files, or is this a hardware issue? (when I try play an avi file the sound plays but "video codec not supported" is displayed on the screen)

AVI container format is supported by the Ariva 120

The contained video codec used should be MPEG-2 or H.264 (up to level 4.1)

    Audio MP3, AAC or AC3

    Manual Page ... 32

    Hi,

I've not updated mine for good while as it has been pretty stable.
Everything is fine except for an issue where the HD channels freeze.

Do you know if this latest version has a fix for that issue?

    Thanks in advance.

Hi Mark, what version are you on?

    Hi Tony,

I'm running V2.15B8 on my Ferguson 120 ( haven't upgraded it since I bought it from you). It's working fine, but I'm wondering if there is a good reason for updating the firmware?

    Thanks,
    MJ

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,352 ✭✭✭✭Tony

Hi MJ, theres really no reason to unless you are having a specific problem.

Thanks. It's always worth asking the question, just in case some new feature was added!

Last time I tried to update the firmware on a receiver was on my Strong 6355 and I totally messed that up, so probably best I stay well away from updates!

I powered up the Ariva 120 and get the message "ASH" on the display

No output from the unit and remote and front panel buttons all unresponsive.

    Any Ideas?

    Thanks

ASH is a fault code, you now have to go through a procedure called " recover box" and you need to connect to box with a null modem cable. on the ferguson website they will have the software to upgrade box but its polish.

tony is your best bet, satelite ie
