    Hi all,

Newbie to this forum - be nice please! :)

So, the story is that I have a rare leg condition (left leg), and because of it I have some serious muscle wastage in that calf. Like compared to my right calf, it looks like skin and bone.

I've been going to the gym for a while, so am accustomed with the various machines, but I am still a newbie with regards to any weights etc.

My question is this - is it possible to do any exercises / use any weights or machines to build muscle in the left calf? Obviously I would have to make a variation on the regular way of doing the exercise etc..and I am aware that it will take time...I'm in this for the long haul! :)

    Appreciate any feedback!

Talk to the trainers in the gym, you can do a lot of the leg exercises one legged.

Or would there be anything I can do at home?

I find You Tube can be pretty good for giving demonstrations of how to perform exercises correctly. The feedback generally makes it pretty easy to tell the good from the bad. There's lots of "home workout" stuff there too.

A quick search for "single leg calf exercises" gives some promising looking results
You can then just click around from there on related exercises and it will give you an idea of what you can do.

I'm sure if you come back with any questions on specific exercises or techniques somone around here more knowledgeable than I would be able to give you some direction.
