Feeling It In The Wrong Muscle

    Hey all,

Was doing a session in the gym today, and for what ever reason I was just feeling it in the wrong muscle...

Like I was doing my Chest, started with fly's and was feeling it in my arms more than usual, still feeling it in my chest. Its never happened like it did today for me...

Can anyone suggest what this may be due to?

Also can anyone suggest on to get the correct bench position on a Smith Machine as my gym have gotten rid of the "free weight" bench press so all I have available to me is a smith machine:(

    Cheers again

Bench position, where you're lowering the bar to, grip width, elbow position on the way down...

    Could be many a thing.

If free bench is gone then I rather switch to Dunbell bench over smith machine

Sounds like you need to switch gyms

Free weight benching isnt a straight oath, so the smith doesn't replicate it. That, plus the fact that you don't have to stabilise as much

I think Mellor means free weight bench (aka barbell bench) isn't a straight path of movement, the smith machine is (though somewhat angled) so the smith machine doesn't replicate what a barbell does. You would probably be able to do a much heavier weight on the smith machine, as the rails provide a great deal of stability to the lift.
