Messi goal watch; how many will he end up with this season?

He's already on 58 goals from 49 appearances (21 in his last 11) which is just 5 goals off the all-time season record (Europe's top leagues). Everton's Dixie Dean: 63 in 1927-28.

There's definitely another 11 games left for Barca and probably a 12th as long as Chelsea are overcome in the CL semi.

Around 75, but this is just unbelieveable. Never thought someone will be scoring so many goals in one season. I dont know how many he will score next season, he is getting better every year and maybe one season he will score 100.

You're really taking what I said out of context completely, I never said longevity has absolutely nothing to do with it, just that it's not the be all and end all.
But, if you want to go down that road, Messi's best season was better than Ronaldinho's best season, and Messi's best game would trump Ronaldinho's best singular game.

I think the "best" footballer and "greatest" footballer are different things.

One pertains to ability, the latter pertains to achievements.

While I think Messi might well be the "best", I don't think he's the greatest but could well be by the time he finishes up. Maybe 5 european cups? 10 league trophies? A world cup? Who knows.
