We've no water in Celbridge for at least the last 15 mins, I don't know how long it was actually gone for. Is anyone else the same? Does anyone know how long its going to be like this for?

Ours has gone too, was just about to try the Council, not sure if they'll still be about though...

I think there all gone home from 5. The KCC website says there were emergency works carried out in Maynooth and the water went at 9am this morning, and it was restored at 4pm. Nothing about Celbridge though. There was also a leak in the mains in Celbridge 3 days ago and water was cut off temporarily.

Just tried their Emergency Number (1890 50 03 33). There's an automated message saying it's been switched back on again but that it'll take a while to re-distribute.

still waiting for that redistribution.... They picked a hell of a weekend for this.

Why? :S and they didn't pick it, it was emergency work to fix a problem that would have left us with no water anyway.

We seem to have different problems so, are the council aware of this? Their phone line seems to say that its part of the maynooth problem and should be working by now.

There was a problem with water in Maynooth from 9 untill 4, the water went in Celbridge at 6 and the council are insisting its just water re distributing to the homes that dont have any so they are not working on it. Even though Celbridge wasn't affected they are still saying it was.

The reservoir for here is half way to Celbridge. Phone the emergency line anyways and listen past the message - there is usually a human there.

I've tried a few times only got through there now, the supply to the resivor was turned off as the same time as the water to Maynooth, the water to Maynooth was turned back on just before 4 but the supply for the resivor was left off and it Completely emptied at the peak time just after 6. Its been turned on before 9. Its going to take at most 12 hours from now for the water to refill.

If anyone can please turn off taps and everything so the water can get to a decent pressure by the morning. I need a decent shower after the one that was cut short earlier. :P

Hope to God it's back before 10am, promised my younger sister we could see Titanic 3D today, but if I cant wash I'm certainly not going to a film where most of the 3D effects will probably make it look like I'm "in" or "surrounded by" water =(

They are complete liars. Last night I explained to them that judging by the times that this is a completely different problem to Maynooth. I was told that its not, its the same problem and once the resivor filled up everything would be back to normal. I even asked them about the leak that was found in the mains for Celbridge 3 days ago and they said that's been sorted and won't be a problem. I'm turning into.such a busybody but it has to be done.

Conflicting Reports On Celbridge Water Woes 2012-04-06 09:58:22
Confusion abounds as to the state of water supply in Celbridge.

Parts of the town, including Straffan, have been without water since yesterday morning, following the rupturing of a primary watermain.

Kildare County Council stated at 4 O'clock yesterday afternoon that the problem had been resolved.

However, this morning, a large number of homes in Straffan and in Celbridge proper remain without water

KCC published an alert on second water supply problem in the town at 8.14 this morning, but says it is now resolved.

Not so, according to the people of Celbridge:cool:

It's back in Oldtown Mill now, low pressure so should be back to normal in an hour or so

i think paying this charge means if there is ever a problem we can hassle the hell out of the council for proper service

It came back for me, in oldtown mill, about an hour ago. But I still only have mains water - nothing anywhere else, must still be low pressure not letting it get to the tank

My tank has been filling up for the last 2 and a half hours, it was completely empty though. I still think it should be full by now so I don't know what's going on.

They say that all areas should have water by 11:50 but there are still people without it. I don't have a clue what is going on at this stage.

Water stayed on in my part of Celbridge, although we're near where the water comes down from the tanks. A friend I know in Celbridge started getting some pressure back around 11am this morning.

I rang them a half an hour ago. Some parts of Oldtown Mill still have no water at all. I think we are the very end of the pipeline.
But we are near the front of the estate and I'm fully back, tank full, water in all taps.

I used to live in Oldtown Mill, last estate to get water in Celbridge every time. You're right, it is end of the line :)

Oldtown Mill, The Paddock right at the 'end of the line', water finally restored at around 1:30pm

Make sure to check your kitchen cold tap (which is on the mains, not the tank) just in case you got an airlock due to emptying the main tank.

Spent a good 50 minutes earlier today clearing one here...
