No one is saying he WILL appear on Mania. Just there is serious negotiations and Lesnar is in town. Lesnar isnt leaving home for lolz.

Les-nar-itroll. Damn I can't think of a snappy quip. But yeah this sounds totally legit, actually read it on MMA Mania before any other paste & copy site, weird. Did wwe have to pay anything to UFC I know he was still under contract to them after he got hommered by Overeem.

According to Dana White he's no longer under contract to UFC.

Tbh he hasn't been a fighter since the starting bell vs Velasquez. I'll be interested to see how big he looks, he was so drawn out & gaunt after that illness. I hope he has recovered some bit.

As long as it's not a rival mma company Dana lets them do as they please pretty much.

Will be interesting to see what shape he's in as in will he look alot more muscular than he did for mma

was the whole thing of Lesnar re-signing with WWE an April fools?

Even if he has resigned, the chance of a Mania appearance was slim. They will save him until at least tonight, or possibly even a few more weeks until they figure out what they want to do with them.

No reports stated he would appear at Mania; that was all wild fan speculation after hearing news he had signed a contract.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,299 ✭✭✭spiralism

If he has signed, he comes out tonight and interrupts the Taker/HHH aftermath segment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Apparently Lesnar is only 15 dates, as such, I can't see him doing anything more than taking out someone like Undertaker or Triple H and then leaving again until they return around January. That gives him three months to use up 14 dates. He doesn't have enough dates to be doing anything else.

do we know the details on brock's contract? 12-15 dates? what do you think they'll do with him? How will the Cena/ Rock/ Lesnar story (if any) pan out. Great to see so many old big names back (even if they dont hang around too long) i.e Y2j, hbk, rock, hhh, taker, brock. And there is genuine talk of austin returning at mania next year to face punk. all this has generated interest in wwe again and will get some older fans back on board for a while.

rock and the title? love it. im genuinely interested again. feels good

    Here:
Sources speaking to PWInsider.com state that Lesnar has signed for a minimum two appearances a month over the next year, plus an additional number of appearances during the build to the Mania PPV and obviously, Mania 29 itself.

The belief is that Lesnar will make in the area of 30-35 appearances over the next year, although WWE would have the ability to negotiate additional appearances with him above and beyond that - if Lesnar is willing to make them.

The report opines that The Rock needs to challenge someone for the WWE title, and alludes to a possible Lesnar-Rock feud.

This is the type of deal tends to end in a backlash with Vince and management punishing the talent for signing a deal WWE AGREED TO. Case in point Goldberg's WWE run.

This is something i'm really happy to be wrong about! Split this off from the news & rumours thread; Brock needs his own thread but spoilers are in place until Wednesday :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,469 ✭✭✭✭GTR63

How many matches will he be having I wonder. He needs to get in better shape if & when he wrestles. 30-35 appearances are a lot though need to get Paul Heyman on the phone or else we will hear nothing but Murr, Horseshoes & bud lite.

Someone fill me in... why is it so few dates per month. What else has he got going on since he's left UFC?

He's a genuine sociopath who hates travel and lives in isolation. Production crews have travelled to his home in a remote area "in the woods" from UFC & THQ to film interviews and were turned away a number of times as Brock didnt feel like talking that day.

was one of his biggest issues with his previous time in the WWE supposidly.

I Fully expect Brock vs Taker at WM 29 (his contract running out ideal time to job him out to the streak) and probably Brock vs Cena at Summerslam most likely (would give him time to get in good shape). With at least 2 Raws a month we could also see him in a few one off PPV encounters against other stars although i'd assume building to one of the above mentioned feuds anyone vs Brock would be doing a job that night. Still would be nice if some other guys get the chance to go 1 on 1 with Brock during his time back and from my reading of his supposed deal thats likely.

It's a shame he didnt stick with wrestling because he was absolutly brilliant, especially when you look at his size. He was one of the few people you believed could legit kick the **** out of you if he wanted to. The majority of the WWE roster you could put up at least a good fight against, Lesnar would kill you unless you had some serious training.

I hope we get to see him killing people like Miz and Ryder, even just on Raw :D

    Partial Source: Pwinsider.com

As seen on RAW, The Rock teased a run with the WWE Title. Speculation is that Lesnar will eventually challenge The Rock for the WWE Title at WrestleMania 29, setting up the rhyming tag-line "Rock vs. Brock".

    More as we get it.

    Hi all,

This is not a troll post but a genuine question.

I've followed WWF since 1987 and all through the attitude era, but for some reason I lost interest around 2001 what with kids being born, new house etc - back interested since about 2006 and from recall I don't remember him being there then.

I realise Brock is a huge deal to the fans ( as per his pop on Raw ) but is he that good, or was he in his prime.

I just don't see the excitement - he's a big guy no doubt and his NCAA credentials are superb, but what exactly does he bring to the new WWE - is it the idea he's invincible or is his in ring work off the charts?

Moved to this thread. It's the Lesnar thread - It's not named as such because we have strict rules on spoilers.

Brock was a massive deal during his 2-year stay in WWE main roster where they marketed him as the present/future of WWE until he up and quit a few days before WrestleMania XX. He headlined WMXIX and won, and was the centrepiece of SmackDown, which had all the best mat wrestlers on it.

    What does he bring?

    1. Outside attention from people who wouldn't normally watch WWE.
    2. He headlined the most bought UFC PPVs of all time.
    3. He's a world class wrestler.
    4. He looks like a million bucks - tremendous marketing appeal.
    5. You'll have to tune in to find out ;)

In short, he's a legit star, badass, and great wrestler, WWE should have as many of them as they can get their hands on.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,478 ✭✭✭✭gnfnrhead

Brock Lesnar was that one in a million guy. The only thing he fell down on was mic skills but considering he was mostly booked as a monter heel, they werent exactly needed for the most part. Had he stuck around, he would now be at the level Cena is at, if not higher. He was going to be the man in WWE for years to come. He beat Undertaker, Hulk Hogan (destroyed him!) and the Rock amoung others. In his first six months!

Unfortunatly, he decided to take his ball and go home which I think is the reason for all the stop start pushes in recent years.

How is brock lesnar in the WWE? Like I'm almost deathly certain he had 2 fights left on his UFC contract. Dana must've brokered a lucrative deal to let him out of it (direct competition excluded)

He retired from MMA in December

Retiring doesn't get you legally out of your contract. Like I'd've thought Brock would've signed a deal that says he can't compete/perform until he completes the agreed # of fights, when he last signed a contract with UFC. WWE is direct competition for UFC PPV buys.

Yeah i'm wondering this too. I know his fight career ended when he retired(it also ended when Cain & Overeem destroyed him on his feet thus killing UFC's baddest man on the planet moniker) but did UFC just decide to cut their loses & allow him go back to wwe without getting any claw wedge.

I'd probably push his match with Rock @ SummerSlam 2002. Or his Iron Man with Angle :) Actually his match with Eddie @ NWO 2004 was a fantastic storyline.

Im in the same boat (minus the kids :P).

Im 24 now, and I was a huge wrestling fan through the attitude era right up to just after the WCW Invasion ppv where it just got a bit **** imo.

Ive never really witnessed Brock Lesnar but its still kinda a cool that a big name wrestler is back. Was he like the Stone Cold of his time or more down the card than that?

My problem with wrestling nowadays is that it just seems so childish. Im honestly not sure if its me looking back with tinted glasses or not but it seemed way more cutting edge back in the old days.

They dont have big stars now. They still rely on the guys I used to love to bring out the big matches.

I mean Randy Orton is meant to be one of the top guys, but seriously that guy has no personality and he is boring as hell in the ring. CM Punk is the only guy I like whenever I watch wrestling anymore.

By chance I watched that PPV where CM Punk ran off with the title and the crowd were class. Watched for a little after that PPV but it just resorted back to the PG crap.

May just watch it for the next while and see what Lesnar is like.
