    Hey,

I'm 19, male, 6ft and 10stone. going away to greece in 10 weeks. I'm looking to increase my muscle mass due to the fact I am very skinny.

The doctor told me the only way Il put on weight is by building muscle so this is my aim. Paticulary around the chest area due to the fact that my ribs stick out a small bit on one side.

Due to lack of funds I can't join a gym. All I have is 2 dumbells and a resistance band :o I may be able to buy some more equipment if it were necessary, however.

Can anyone suggest any exercises I could do and anything in particular I should be eating/not eating? Is there any supplements out there that would assist me?

    All help is greatly appreciated!!!

    Thanks!

If you can't afford to join a gym I can't see you being able to afford supplements such as whey protein in the long run, unless you find some amazing deals. They're not essential at your stage though so don't get too hung up on it.

What you can do on the supplement front for cheap and cheerful:

Cod liver oil everyday - 3 or 4 euro a bottle in tesco
    Spinach - Great for antioxidants
Peanut butter/wholegrain bread sandwiches - High in protein and cheap.
    Multivitamin tablets
    Drown yourself in milk everyday.

I'd very much recommend buying a pull up bar or finding a substitute, eg in a park.

Search youtube for push up variations.

get some of that chocolate milk avenmore do, apparantly there's a lot of protein in it, nearly as much as u'd get in a helping of whey? (haven't done this myself as i don't take protein but my boyfriend takes the chocolate milk sometimes instead of whey)

    That's not true.

And the "bang for your buck" as a protein source relative to kcals is really poor as well compared to whey.

    Thanks chillywilly!

Right so I have come into a bit of cash there last night from a bet + I get paid at the end of the week so I was looking at on investing in some supplements and I'm wondering which of the following would be most beneficial to me, if any? http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/9003479/c_1/1%7Ccategory_root%7CSports+and+leisure%7C14419152/c_2/3%7C15701400%7CNutrition+aids+and+supplements%7C14419289/c_3/4%7Ccat_14419289%7CMuscle+building%7C15530987.htm

Would I be better off spending my money on a few gym sessions?

Edit: hmm maybe I would just realised these only contain 10 servings:/
