Kyuss Lives! (maybe wont see the light of day because of the lawsuit)
Sorry about going a bit off-topic (delete if necessary Malice/Lord Lucan), but I'd like to comment on this.

If the lawsuit does go ahead and Kyuss Lives! are no more because of it, I can only imagine John, Brant and Bruno will release the album under a different name. To be honest I didn't believe the news when I heard of the lawsuit, particularly as I know Josh and Scott are still great friends with John and Brant in particular, I especially doubted Scott's involvement as he was filling in on bass for them whilst away doing the international legs of their tour due to Nick Oliveri being a gobshite last summer, I kind of even predicted Reeder would end up replacing Oliveri eventually. I knew Josh was a grade A arsehole but I didn't see him getting legally involved with Kyuss Lives!, it can only be for business purposes, nothing else.

That lawsuit is gonna be a messy situation all round, i cant see either side coming out of it looking anyway decent

Storm Corrosion and Rush are two big ones for me.

Circus Maximus (Norwegian Prog Metal Band) are due to release their 3rd album too, which should be interesting.

    Sonata Arctica

Didn't realise they were due a release, will have to look out for it. That said, found the last album very forgettable.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

At the moment this is the only release of 2012 that grabs me. Out next month.

Killswitch Engage announced that the original singer Jesse Leach has returned to the band. I dunno if they're recording or not. but I'd assume they are and we'll see a release by the end of the year (hopefully)

Bit of a mixed bag of an album. Some glorious throwbacks to 70's (and 60's) rock on it, but some tracks that only work if you are in the mood for them. More good than bad though.

Didn't expect to see a new album from Slayer this year. Hope i'm wrong and they do get something out late this year.

Im liking what Ive heard so far .... although one or two tunes tend to meander without delivering any punch.

Liking the sound of the new Stone Sour album. According to reports its supposedly a heavy 2 disc concept album that sounds like a mix between Pink Floyd and Alice In Chains

Another one here looking forward to Squackett - if the samples here are any guide, it sounds awesome.

Trevor Rabin's Jacaranda was released a couple of weeks ago, and it's flipping mental. HD Tracks has samples to try.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

They are a cracking live band. New album is very good, picked it up earlier rather than order it online as I wanted to listen to it asap.

Is anyone getting the new Ahab album actually?

Wouldn't be a massive Doom expert, but I came across them checking out the doom thread and really liked their stuff.

The title track of the album can be listened to here. I love it.

Would Sound Cellar or something stock the likes of this, or will I have to buy online? I don't normally get much stuff in there.

Into The Void have it I think.

The new Old Man Gloom is killer, and Primitive Weapons - The Shadow Gallery is an album to check out if you're into Converge

Yes I'll be giving it a listen at some stage, it's out today isn't it?

I liked the crushing atmosphere of the Moby Dick themed The Call Of The Wretched Sea, I imagine this will be in the same vein.

Cool, I've never been there. I'll drop in.

Don't know any of those bands, but I'll have a listen!
As xerces said, Call of the Wretched Sea is a beast of an album that really struck me. Don't know the genre much really.
