Hi im wondering could people here give me some info because im trying to stop myself getting a big gut.

Im 27 years old 5ft 6inch and weigh 11 and half stone.

Ive always been thin and since i got into my early twenties my weight would go up and down between 11 and 12 stone, depending on how active, lazy i was feeling and i might drink more often and eat junk food.

My girlfriend says i eat too much white bread, i eat fast food 3 nights a week as dinner. I have mayo practically every day in a sandwich or hot chicken roll and have small sweet tooth but that is just out of boredom ( i dont crave chocolate and crisps)

Ive cut out a lot of fizzy drinks over past 6 months.
Im trying to eat whole grain bread and not eat mayo, fast food, full fat milk.

Will this help reduce my belly

Ive gained inch and half over a year and a half in jeans size - Any help!!

(Sorry if this post is hard to read)

At least you've caught the problem while its only one area you have to target a few more years and you could be trying to loose weight off everywhere, I've seen this with male friends between the age of 27-30 they can't eat what they used to and get less active so as I remember them from having a bit of a belly in their late 20s now in their early to mid 30s a lot of them have a lot of weight on their face and back as well.

So! I think you know whats coming if you only have one area your core to target you can make a workout to strengthen that which will keep your metabolism up because I have changed my diet and then added more nutritious foods but even with a good calorie deficit I stop loosing after a month because im not exercising so my body is just in storing mode like it was when I gained in the first place.

Whole grain bread is alright but still eat it sparingly if it was a staple you know yourself add in more protein and complex carbs, calculate your BMR and your decifitic, don't over restrict instead of takeaways don't be afraid to cook the same thing at home with portion control you can have a pizza/chicken/carby dinner for 400-500 calories rather than 1000+

Honestly there is so much nutrition advice here I would personally do what is sustainable, there is no point being really healthy for 9 weeks and then giving up and reverting back to an unhealthy diet for good but its best to be moderately healthy for longer an keep changing habits and building your over all fitness which will not target your belly because your body is using energy from other places but targeted exercises will help.
