I think Chelsea will have too much for villa but it's gonna be a tough game, is it on tv? 3-1 Chelsea

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,154 ✭✭✭✭Neil3030

Buoyed by the illness to their captain, I fully expect Villa to heroicly keep 10 men behind the ball, never commit more than 2 or 3 men forward, and ultimately lose this game without even offering as much as a pretence that winning was ever their intention.

    2-0 Chelsea.

grealish on the bench for villa. would be great to see him get a run out. for those who don't know who he is, he's a 16 year old irish kid who's viewed as the great white hope at villa nowadays

A Chelsea walkover. Villa have been completely spineless of late and I expect them to turn up and do not much more else

Wonder if Torres or Drog will start? - kind of hoping Torres!

I'd expect a reaction from Villa after their hiding last week and the Petrov concern could have the same impact. Chelsea will still probably win but Villa could force a draw especially if last Tuesday took a lot out of some of the Chelsea players.

Much as i'd like to see the boys 'do it for Stan' I'd say it'll be 0-0.

Villa have a pretty good home record against Chelsea, and a youthful midfield selection could potentially run rings around an aging Chelsea side so i'm optimistic-ish for today.

    UTV

Its on UTV? and yes, Villa is our bogey side

"The idea of a bogey side has become a completely acceptable concept - and one which is born, in most cases, from statistical evidence. With that in mind, Chelsea fans have begun to look rather negatively at matches against Aston Villa... and particularly their visits to Villa Park. They're currently on a run of just three wins in the last 12 Premier League duels and could be on the wrong end of a "double" following Villa's shock 3-1 win at Stamford Bridge on New Years Eve."

But bogeys are there to be picked and wiped on a nice clean hankie your mammy gave you!

Great to see Weimann start. Hope he has a good game

7 of the Villa team are from our academy.

Also Grealish on the bench is a 17 yo Irish player who is rated highly at Villa.

Looked like he was limping going off. I think Terry might have clipped him before one of Villas corners. or maybe the tackle on Wiemann

Wiemann was struggling for the las couple of minutes. Hope he's ok or we'll probably bring onHeskey

why? can you not figure out what's going on without someone talking you through it or something?

going to games must be a nightmare for you

    2-0 chelsea

    dire from set pieces again

we're playing quite well though i think, just lacking any real cutting edge up front. ireland's our best player again

But what those epic commentary moments and blunders? :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,814 ✭✭✭✭JPA

Looks like Ivanovic handled before scoring.
    Accidentally though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,924 ✭✭✭shoutman

frontrowsports has a north american stream for it, so has english commentary.

Villa dont look like scoring, and it's just too easy for Chelsea.
Our set pieces, defensively and offensively, are just not up to scratch.

It's just a preference really. For the additional info. for e.g I'd know why Luiz went off (I'm guessing its injury, I'm not watching this 100% I'm flicking back & forth).

going to a match <> watching on tv btw.

This is a stroll in the park for Chelsea. Villa have played okay but I was expecting to see more passion and fight from them given the circumstances surrounding the game. But in all honestly they look don't look threatening in front of goal and have been typically pathetic at the back. Luckily the teams below us are really poor or we would be in some serious trouble right now.

Villa are rubbish under Alex McLeish, they`ll be doing well not to get relegated
