Forearm pain during shoulder dislocates

    Hey

Seem to have some forearm/wrist issue that presents itself when trying to do shoulder dislocates. When I reach full extension behind my back I have trouble keeping my left palm fully gripped to the broom handle/whatever. This gets worse as I try and bring my grip closer together. Basically my hands dont seem to have the same range of rotataion. For example, if I put my arms in front of me and try to face my hands towards ceiling, my left hand doesn't want to go as far. This also presents an issue when trying to chin-up.

Got a strain in forearm almost a year ago when I coldn't rotate my arm at all and it hasn't been the same since.

Any suggested mobility or stretches I could use to bring it back up? Is this just a forearm/wrist issue or is it caused by something else?

    Cheers.

Torn muscle, healed poorly, lots of scar tissue, loss of ROM? Just a theory. Prolly need to get it looked at. If you get in at your forearm with a golf ball, is one side/portion noticeably worse than the other? What about your biceps?

I don't grip the bar fully on dislocates either, kinda just grip it soft with my thumb in a loopy sorta manner. May help. If not, may have to look for some other mobility exercise til you fix the issue.

I think the injury definitely excaberated the issue but it was probably there it some extent causing it. Nothing in particular caused it, it just woke up sore one day.

I'll give the golfball a try. Have never noticed an issue with the biceps. I do experience forearm pain when curling though sometimes. I'm a walking knot of muscles at the moment.

Loop grip definitely helps with dislocates though. While try that for shoulders while I figure out forearm issue.

    +1 for loose grip.
The movement is targeting the shoulder. So only the angle of your arms is important imo. As its kinda an awkward position for wrist and forearm, I don't see the need to grip it too tight.
