    The teams;
    Abbiati
    Mexes --- Nesta --- Bonera --- Antonini
    Nocerino --- Ambrosini
    Seedorf --- Boateng
    Ibrahimovic --- Robinho

    Valdés
    Alves --- Piqué --- Mascherano --- Puyol
    Sergio --- Keita
    Xavi --- Iniesta
    Alexis --- Messi
Not sure of the formation of either team. tbh

Tie of the round by some distance - 11 CL titles between them. Nuff said. I fancy Barca just about in this game, huge blow to Milan with Thiago Silva out. Watch the punditry on RTE for the lulz.

I presume Dunph will note that Seedorf has for played in 3 different Champions League winning teams and "he's still rubbish!"

I'm waiting for his comments on Dani Alves not being a good defender.

    is he?

Think Barca's line up is interesting. Looks like Pep has learned his lessons from the last game in the San Siro. It'll be interesting to see how he adapts his team.

Very few people get past him on 1 vs 1 and his stamina is unreal.

I doubt it will be 4-2-2-2 for Milan. In the Champions League, we've seen them play 4-3-3/4-5-1 a fair bit with Ibrahimovic up front and Robinho and Seedorf out wide or playing as supporting striker. Nocerino, Ambrosini and Boateng will play central midfield, pretty close to each other to try and prevent Barca from controlling the game. Bonera will play right back with Mexes slotting into his typical centre back position. Even though Thiago Silva was poor in the Arsenal second leg, he will be a big loss tonight. Bonera is an incredibly weak link to put out against Barcelona. Can't see Milan keeping a clean sheet.

I presume Brady is talking about when Mou was with Inter cos he certainly hasn't gotten the better of Pep in his time at Barca.

Why are Milan is white anyone know? I know they consider it lucky but they play in red & black when they can afaik.

Anyone fancy Milan at 4/1 tonight, seems like a great price.

    they'll pay for those misses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Gotta take those early chances against Barca. Bad miss.
First ten to fifteen minutes of each half are when Barca are the most vulnerable.

Wasted chance from Robinho there. He definitely should have done better!

Thought Kevin was going to bury that too in the lead up.

Great chance. Milan defiantly giving it to them early on. Would of been a great start.

Milan have Barca rattled at the back - no time to pass out from defence

The simulation cost him as it was a peno . But WTF is the use of the Ref behind the goal if they are going to bottle it aswell .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

    Pen imo.

As an infrequent football watcher, what's the rule on that? Sanchez kicked it away with absolutely no hope of retrieving the ball, but there was contact. Is it a penalty?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,778 ✭✭✭Big Pussy Bonpensiero

    Aboi Valdes, world class save.

I think the ref was going to give a pen. The lino rightly told him not to.

I suppose Seedorf and Van Bommel learn those tackles from each other.

Forget about the tackle he has exactly the right idea but in telling his team mates to keep forward and push/pressure Barca in their own half .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,337 ✭✭✭✭monkey9

What a goal that would have been from Barca. Beautiful football!
