Although Mallow does sound quite tempting, I was thinking more along the lines of Crete, Iaya Napa, Playa del Ingles. Any1 been to any of these places? Thanks for the help!! And we mite consider Mallow for Summer 2013 :)!

went to Ibiza last year costs 4 of us about 320 each booked in january tho and it was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!!!! stayed in san antonio as well much cheaper and the island is so small it it costs about 30 euro in taxi to get to the other side so worked out cheaper for us. And the west end was were all the drink deals were happening and never ever ever drink in a big nightclub like pacha and the likes well unless your a millionaire. If not there then santa ponsa full of irish and only taxi ride away from magaluf that be a proper piss up of a holiday

i was dragged along to a lads holiday in gran canaria 3 years ago and actually had a very good time/ we stayed in playa del ingles at the start of september so it was pleasantly busy. i would recommend it as a lads holiday as there is a fair bit to do outside of clubbing.

Thanks a lot guys!! I heard Ibiza is unbelievable alrite but that it's extremely expensive in comparison to other holiday spots...or as you say is it only the big clubs like pacha that are extremely expensive?? And are the bars/smaller clubs still as cheap as say Santa Ponsa?? Also heard Crete is a great lads holiday destination - anyone been there or advise if its a good place to go? Think we're currently choosing between Ibiza, Playa del Ingles and Crete!! Thanks again for all the advise!!:)

cant remember the name of it but there's a place (an island) ...off the coast of croatia which is supposed to be the new dance place to party.

Was in Playa Del Ingles last year. Had a great time but it wasn't as crazy as I expected it to be. (not saying that's a bad thing)

Was in Ibiza in 2003 and it was class.

Looking for somewhere new to go myself at the moment.

I'v done a few east europe holidays in the last 3 years all of them with the lads. Also done thailand, india and the prerequisite gran canaria and majorca with the lads.
We all agree the east european holidays have been the best fun and best value. We can't agree if its cause were gettin older (all 27-30yr olds) or cause the l destinations are getting better.

Did Ponsa and Magaluf last year. Ponsa is dirt cheap, buy a drink and they give you a free shot with it. Book the Deya apartments as well, dont mind the reviews, if you have a gang of lads with you it will be serious craic. It cost us 12euro for a taxi to Magaluf, which was mental. Drink is a bit more expensive there, but still a lot cheaper than Ireland. Went to the BCM night club twice, tickets were expensive enough (45-60euro depending on who is performing) but its a free bar once you get in.
We're looking at Ibiza now, but its pretty dear. Can anyone recommend cheap anywhere cheap on the island, its working out at near 700euro for flights and accommodation which in comparison to Majorca is very expensive.

So basically its a decision between Ibiza, Playa del Ingles and Crete. We were in Santa Ponsa last year and it was unbelievable but don't think we will go back there again this year. Think we will go to Ibiza but from what I've heard so far it seems very expensive . . . So if anybody knows anywhere in Ibiza that is cheap I would really appreciate it!!!! Thanks!!!!:)

There really are only two choices if you want a great lads trip rather then just the run of the mill crap.
    A. Euro 2012
    B. San Fermin - The running of the Bulls Pamplona

All well and good if its inside your budget. Wouldn't suit 20-22 year olds.

Ya I dont think we will be doing Euro 2012 simply because we don't have the money for it unfortunately!! Kildare9 I think we are in the same boat as yourself - we were in Ponsa and Magaluf last year and we're looking into Ibiza at the moment but from what I can see from the posts here, its really expensive! Can I ask if you have had any luck in finding a cheap part of the island? We're kinda thinking of Crete now because it looks far cheaper than Ibiza..!

Thanks for that info which does not sound very reasonable . . . but we're looking for more of a sun holiday with beaches etc rather than a city holiday like berlin ! Think we're going to go with Crete in the start of September to be honest unless we can find out a cheap area of Ibiza to go to. . . .!!!

there should be plenty of places in crete that are cheap, me and the g/f got flights and accomodation for €750 for the 2 of us before!
as mentioned try hersonissos its on the coast i dont remeber seeing a beach to be honest, i didnt stay there but it looked way busier than stalis where i stayed, just make sure you check how far out of hersonissos the hotel/apartments are because they may be a 5 minute walk but it could be up the MASSIVE hill:)
have a look at malia aswell this place is meant to be insane, very popular with young english folk, i was only there during the day on the tourist train(:o) but it seemed like a busy spot,
drink is still cheap everywhere in greece, and you can rent quads and scooters everywhere aswell!

Thanks a million for that kildare9!!! Really appreciate it and glad to hear that ye're going 4 it! Just one question - when you say its only the big nightclubs are expensive and the smaller ones are grand, does that mean that prices in the smaller nightlcubs are as cheap as say Ponsa? And do you think the pubs in that area are also cheap or would you be paying prices as high as 5 or 6 euro for a pint? Just a bit cautious at the moment because of what I've been hearing about the prices in Ibiza ! Thanks again for your advise - its been really helpful!!!

`Thanks for the comment!!! Hersonniss does sound like a class place alright! I think we would steer clear of Malia though to be honest because I hear its just full of english - thats not a bad think now but I just wouldn't like to be the only Irish people in the middle of a large group of english and would prefer to have a mixture of both the Irish and English which is why Hersonniss sounds tempting!! Could I ask you if you think Hersonniss would still be busy in the first 2 weeks of September ?? Thanks again!!

Hey, thanks for that info! We're actually looking into San Antonio aswel at the moment! Could I ask you what the prices of drink are like in the pubs in that area? I've heard stories about paying outrageous prices for a pint but I would like to get information from someone who has actually been there... And also in the smaller clubs (excluding Pacha, Amnesia etc) are the prices still reasonable or is it still very expensive? Any information you could give me would be really helpful!!!!!

i was on the island of zante in the second week of september last year and it was business as usual, some people told me half the place would be closed down because it was september but it was normal,
once the holiday flights are still running the places seem to stay open, i would imagine crete to be the same!

Yeah it's called Pag. The Hideout festival will be unbelievable there this summer. I've been to all the other places but Croatia and Pag in particular offer the best party for the best value, Ibiza is crazy prices for what you get and the rest of the Spanish joints wouldn't be my cup of tea.

Think we have more or less decided on Crete (Hersonniss) for the 1st week of September. Anybody know of any good accomadation there?

probably a bit late but I was in Ibiza last year the first week in September, only went for 5 days but was enough to be honest as its non stop over there. We stayed in apartments on bora bora beach, it was reasonable enough think it worked out at about 30 a night per person for four of us. I also booked flights late like a few weeks before i went and flew with easyjet from london luton, the prices of flights was 250euro (that was including my return flights from dublin to luton) which was not too bad considering how late i booked them. If you check skyscanner you will find the cheapest flights anywhere. The price of drink really depends on what you are drinking, if you drink the local stuff it can work out cheaper but im a bulmers drinker so was prob about 7/8 euro during the day for a lg bottle of bulmers on bora bora and went to up 10 euro after a certain time, but there is ways around that, bora bora is busy during the day but what a lot of people do is buy drink in the off licence and just drink on the beach right outside bora bora. Off licence prices are grand. Im heading to hideout festival myself this year, which is on Zrce beach, island of pag, croatia. From what i have read/heard its the new ibiza but not as expensive. There are festivals throughout the summer and this seems to be a good party destination. cheap flights can be got return from london with german wings to a number of airports close to the island. The closest airport is Zadar and there is plenty of cheap apartments in a town called novalja which is 2km from that beach. Enjoy anyway whatever destination you go with :D
