Really looking forward to this one. Arsenal hoping to build on their quest for a Champions League place for next season and Everton winning their last three league games at home with no goals conceded will be difficult to beat.

    Team news

Everton are expected to be without midfield trio Jack Rodwell (hamstring), Seamus Coleman (thigh) and Darron Gibson (knee).

Steven Pienaar is available again after being cup-tied against Sunderland.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must decide whether to stick with Kieran Gibbs at left-back or recall Andre Santos, who is fit after three months out with an ankle injury.

Mikel Arteta makes his first return to Goodison Park since moving to Arsenal.

    Starting line-ups to follow later.

Awkward match for Arsenal. Everton's home record needs a pin put in it, hopefully it'll be tonight.

Anyone know if this will be on anywhere? Maybe The Mercantile?

If it's covered on Tring or Sky Calcio surely somewhere will show it?

The match is on Tring alright and I cycled down to confirm it is on in The Mercantile on Dame St. for anyone in the city centre looking for it.

I find arseblog.com is great for the live blogging of Arsenal games. Updates every minute, sometimes more. And usually pretty funny (from a Gunners perspective :P)

    Dear God,

    Please let Arsenal win.

Please also smite Chelsea and Spurs. Smite them with your smiting stick. Smite them so bad.

    Yours,

    Meriwether

I thought "HE" was using Van Persie as a smiting stick these days;)

If I had to choose, I would choose you and my beloved Chelsea to qualify for CL at the expense of Spurs.

Sick of seeing 'arry everywhere and the current media love in (formally with arsenal) for "spurs lovely brand of football":confused::confused:

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs, Song, Arteta, Ramsey, Rosicky, Walcott, Van Persie.

Subs: Fabianski, Santos, Djourou, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Benayoun, Gervinho, Chamakh.

    Ugh, Rosicky out wide.

Don't like when Rosicky is out on the wing. Has no real pace and always looking to go inside

Spurs do play a lovely brand of football, no need to be so confused. So come on Everton and City do us a favour :)

David Moyes is a great manager. The time he has been at Everton is astounding for a normally mid-table EPL side. Managers normally come and go like the seasons there.

Everton: Howard, Baines, Distin, Heitinga, Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar, Cahill, Drenthe, Fellaini, Jelavic. COYB

    Great stuff by Vermaelen!

75-25 possession and we've had at least 3 clearcuts besides the goal.

Am I seeing this right that Walcott seems to be taking a more central position tonight?

Sorry for the spoiler - perhaps you should try getting a little closer to the first row

Still struggling to understand why we've moved Rosicky from the centre given his form of late...

Litmus test this game; are we able to kick on and kill the game by HT or do we pull the usual Arsenal early away game lead schtick and end up drawing 1-1.

So far it looks like the latter, we've sat back since the goal and let them come back into. They should arguably be level; two decent chances.

Vermaelen has more league goals this season than Carroll and Torres combined. :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,128 ✭✭✭✭Oranage2

Vermalan is playing as an attacking Centreback?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,255 ✭✭✭shano_88

    Im watching on LOF.

Probably the best Ive seen Arsenal play so far this season. Incredible movement and closing down so far.

    Not offside - Lucky there.

Huge let off, bad call by the linesman. Terrible play by Song; you really don't want your defensive midfielder doing **** like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,571 ✭✭✭✭Frisbee

Lucky there, Drenthe was well onside. Shíte pass from Song.
