Had to buy a new charger and some batt's today. My old Nitecore is busted, either it's over heating the batteries, or a battery randomly leaked while charging, as the base of it started to melt! :/ and there's a strong smell of battery acid from it.

So today I dropped into my local iVape and bout a trustfire 2-bay charger and some LG HE4 2500mah batteries. Also grabbed a bottle of Beard Vape #5, and a bottle of claim your throne and a plastic wide bore tip for the Atlantis, just to try it.

I see Thebestshop now sell the Eleaf GS air tanks now, so might be ordering one of those plus a few coils also, for side juices. Got one in a swap with a member here, and it seems a really good tank for the money. €10! for a tank that's [IMO] possibly better than the Nautilus mini. For one thing, it's good to go to 20w, where the mini is best up to 12-13w max I would say. It's a cleaner build, the coils are neater, and so far it's working very solid on an iStick 20w - what it was designed for.

Just ordered 2 bottles of Halcyon Haze, Northern Lights and the Snake Oil 80ml combo from Tmax. Both Subtank RBAs built and ready for action!

I have one :D - well, I gave it to my missus for her iStick 20w. She already prefers it to the iClear 30s she was using regular. I meant I'm going to order another one ;)

I've had nothing but trouble with my Nautilus, mini and standard versions. I tried so hard to like them, bought loads of coils, the old version and then replaced all of those with the new ... things improved a little. But the leaking and gurgling and dry hits always returned. In my experience, and maybe I'm just unlucky with them, they were only good with brand new coils in. After a few juice pass-throughs the issues would arise once again. Absolutely no bias here either, I'm using the Aspire Atlantis for about 2 months now and haven't had one problem with it. It's the mid range tanks [I guess we can call them that now?] that are harder to get spot on I think.

The Eleaf GS air is apparently leak-free, but of course they say that about all tanks when they're new. Hopefully you like it anyway.

I won't be treating myself to much else for a bit anyway, as I posted earlier , had to buy a new charger and some new batteries. Annoyed me that, could have gotten a cheap mod or another sub ohm tank for the money.

Think you're just unlucky!! I had to use my mini nautilus as a fall back at a party on Saturday. Hadn't used it in a couple of months. Worked perfect for the next 24hours. Maybe you got a set of dodgy coils?

Found some coils a couple of weeks back and cleaned out my original Nautilus to try out some juices again it worked fine. Flavour isn't a patch on the Kayfun lite but otherwise its grand. Think I'll be bringing it on a stag next weekend rather than risking my Kayfuns....

Were they new coils you used? Mine work fine with new coils in, but after a while the flavour becomes more muted, and they begin to leak, gurgle and spit. I've tried everything to make them work better. Always make sure the coils are in tight and secure, that no juice goes down middle when filling, and the tank is sealed and tight after filling. It's hit and miss. When they work without issue, they are great.

They were "new" but bought about 6months ago or so.

I know what you mean flavour wise, possibly more so in the standard nautilus? The leaking is something I've yet to encounter at all thankfully.

Think I'll bring the mini and normal nautilus and a megatank away. At least I'll have something that will deffo work! Ended up smoking 20 smokes in one day the last stag I was on. One of the lads disappeared with both my batteries!

Aw crap! I think I'd rather find a garage or shop selling the disposable e-cig's than buy a pack of smokes, in fact I know I would ... or just go cold turkey!

It was a v stressful day in my defence!

Its my only relapse in over a year and I didn't feel any temptation to start up again which was a good sign I think.

The moral of the story is don't lend vaping gear to drunk people who go missing in strange cities!

Soon enough there will the "Can I get a vape off that mate?" scenarios :D I mean, people never minded asking for the "butt/end of yer smoke" in tha past. In cases like this, just find the nearest vaper :D

I got some pre-made coils for the eGrip RBA from vaperus, it was leaking like mad when I wicked it myself but these work great, no leaks. They're cheap too, €2.84 for a 5 pack.

I'm going to get into this mixing buzz. Thanks to jousting with chairs for this thread .

    Picked up:
    - Concentrates, T-Juice Red Astaire & Black n Blue, from ezsmoke.ie
    - 1 Liter Vape Base 50/50 VGPG 12mg/ml, from vapebase.de

This will be really helpful, as I'm plowing through the juice with my subtanks... tis getting expensive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,743 ✭✭✭kingtiger

yes my stuff has also arrived from vapebase today, cant wait to get mixing tonight ;)

I was the same as you, didn't like the thoughts of a bottle of pure nicotine in my house and the dangers involved

but once I spotted the Vapebase pre mixed with nic, I said to myself why not, all you have to do is add the flavour

these sub tanks are too expensive to run unless you make your own

I understand your point and that crossed my mind too when I started but... Have you a bottle of bleach at home?

I do, but I also have two small kids

just don't like the thoughts of something in the house that can kill a child through absorption through the skin

Would the child not need to be soaked in it ? , and would you not keep something like that locked away anyway ? I don't think it would kill a child if a little spilled on it, if anyone was careless enough to let that happen .

doesn't matter, I just wouldn't don't feel comfortable with a bottle of pure nic in my house, even if it was encased in carbonite

I will stick with the pre made base

Home mixing is the way to go and the vapebase premix is dead handy, I do find their concentrates ok but not as strong as I want, have to use about 15% in a mix when making 30/70 pg/vg
Ordered 15 different L&T flavours yesterday so just waiting for the postman :-)

Good price for the KFL, what vendor is that?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,180 ✭✭✭✭J Mysterio

Yeah, thought so too. The discount code is a bit **** though! Its Irishvape.com (ivape) - they have an interesting selection of liquids.

Received three from artisan-eliquid.com this morning. Monster juice, kola kubes and limeade.

They smell so good, not tasted yet.
