    Hello,

Is there a photo/camera shop that I can call into to get some old pictures restored. I offered to do this for my uncle, he had some old worn pics in his wallet. I checked out a place online and they quoted €10 per pic. Is this correct? I didn't think it would cost me €50. Perhaps I should just get them reprinted. Any ideas folks?

I can recommend a guy to restore images - but its not cheap (€20per hr)

its a specialist area I wouldn't do it myself and I'm a full-time professional photographer for around 10years.

    What type of pics?
    Are they negatives or prints?
Whats the quality like - e.g. were they taken with a good camera? How damaged are they?

    Maybe post an example?

The quality wouldn't be great. They are just really old original prints. As i said they have been in his wallet so quite worn. I think I just want to get them re-printed but with the edges tidied up.

I've attached a scanned pic of them. Cheers

I thought this would have been answered by now. There its a poster up in work about photo restoration. I'll take the details, or a photo :) on monday and upload

Edit: oops... obviously this page didn't load on my mobile correctly :( didn't see any replies :( sorry. Will put up details on monday anyway.
about price... I know professional graphic designs who charged 50e to 100e/hr hour work (though that's slightly different)

I had some damaged very old photos digitally restored on-line and it worked out very well for me. You just need to scan the damaged ones at highest quality you can and upload (they will give you instructions). After a week or so you download the digitally repaired version from them in .BMP format after which you can then just reprint.

Sounds cheap to me! However you can get it done on-line like bail me out said - donewith cheap labour in India mostly.
