    Howdy there,
Our first 2 piglets arrived today and I am wondering if anyone here can recommend somewhere in north cork that I can get organic pig ration. Also what do you all supplement your meal with.
All advice is greatly appreciated

Give Gordon a call at Willow Farm 071 9646942 http://www.organicanimalfeeds.ie/

He sells all the organic feed and other supplements for organic animals and delivers all over Ireland.

You could supplement your feed with cooked spuds which is how it has been done on non-intensive farms for donkeys years. The spuds have to be cooked. Any other veg and veg based waste they will eat as well but never feed any meat products.

Emailed them a while ago and will only deliver large quantities to Cork as its such a journey and they don't sell through any retailers.

Apparently because a pigs stomach is similar to our own eating raw spuds or a lot of them they will get gut ache as we do because i think it is the starch in them? So you have to cook them. This is what i was told was the reason for steaming them.

I think all food for animals has to be organic? The organic people would be able to tell you exactly what you can and cannot feed your animals.

Yes it has to be organically grown spuds and veg otherwise your pig is no longer organic.
