Junk Food and Extra Cals Before Conditioning Work

I am being forced to do a load of conditioning work this Sunday (yep THIS Sunday so I cant enjoy St.Patricks Day) because I've turned up late too many times for training. Essentially the coach is going to completely destroy me because hes annoyed.

My question is, will it be beneficial for me to load up on junk food and get the calories in over the next two days to ensure my body is as repaired and fresh as possible for this Sunday?

Or will the junk food impair my fitness and cause this Sunday to be unbearable?

Putting on weight isn't an issue for me because I burn it off, so the question purely concerns whether the extra cals will be beneficial or not for my conditoning work on Sunday

I wouldnt spend the next two days "loading up" with junk food because when I eat tons of crap I feel like crap.

Best advice I can give you is make sure you're hydrated and well rested and get a high carb meal on before your workout if anything and if you really need it some caffeine!

repaired and fresh:confused: be honest now, do you just want to use it as an excuse to eat crap for the weekend to make up for not being able to drink paddys day?

Yes. But I also feel there is some justification in getting those extra cals in to ensure my muscles are fully repaired for this sunday.

If i were you i'd get rotten and then just half ass the training. Are you the only player being made to go?

What are you doing before Sunday that your muscles need to be repaired

Well I compete in an individual sport. But I'm only one from my training team being forced to go, yes.

Don't want to do that, I still need my coach to help me!

Training everday, cardio and weights. Taking day off today though.

Surely extra cals are beneficial no?

Yes, but why does it have to be junk food. Why not fill up on extra good food? Surely you realise that eating more chicken and other protein filled foods would be more beneficial than gulping down dozens of Mars Bars.

As Orla K said, it just looks like your using the training as an excuse to eat loads of sweets because you can't go out today

Do you not think your body uses energy to carry out repairs?

    Protein repairs muscles.

    Fat does not repair muscles.

    Carbohydrates do not repair muscles.

    Fibre does not repair muscles.

So eating a high fat, high carbohydrate meal (such as burgers, pizza, chips and all that crap) wont do much for you.

Eating junk food is only beneficial if you need calories or you're going to burn it off anyway, which in your case is pointless as you've got it backwards. The conditioning work is designed to tax your body but eventually make you fitter/stronger, so enjoy it.
