Lovely - kitties will always make me smile. Except when they are sitting on me, staring into my face at 6am saying 'get up and wait on me'.

Beautiful serene photos. I remember Francois Hardy ......... her Tout Les Garcons was a hit on Radio Luxembourg (208M) in the early 60s. Another Francois ........ this time Gall, won the Eurovision for Luxembourg in the mid 60s. Je t'aime is another one that had my pulse racing in those far off days ;). Oh, zos Fwench axants! :)
    Here's Francois Gall:

Mon cher Spread, I have something to tell you - it's Françoise Hardy and not François and it's France Gall. Françoise Hardy is still making records and her partner Jacques Dutronc is still doing gigs as well. The singing career of France Gall hasn't been quite as successful.

Is it only my non italian speaking head that thinks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWyEvjq39UM
sounds even more beautiful than http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NY0PbzsaCZU ?

Nothing wrong with her recent ( less than 20 years ago ARF ARF ) trip in Abbey Road with Blur
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ojK_yOcC-Mw&feature=fvwrel .

    She is sublime

Pour cette franc - merci! My French is quite rusty .......... I lived in Rozay-en-Brie for about 7 years from the mid 80s and have only had a few chances to speak it since.

La Brie isn't very far away from where I live - it's one of the mini-regions in l'Ile de France (the one I live in is called le Hurepoix) I like the cheese they make there - either brie de Meaux or brie de Melun and then there's la moûtarde de Meaux.

Hi guys. I needed a smile. I found this song on Youtube. You all just have to sing along with it. :)

Very good Jellybaby. The lyrics encapsulate the ebay phenomenon of almost voyeurish attraction to other peoples thrash. Have been able to limit my purchases to gadgets, books and household stuff.

Thank you Jellybaby1 - first time I've smiled for many days

    But tell me one thing...

Do people really buy Ebay things ?

Yup! Occasionally himself buys books/dvd's/cd's and I buy craft supplies/books/dvd's. Glad you enjoyed the song. I particularly laughed at the excitement in the song at being the 'highest bidder'. I well remember the first time I bid on something, it was terrifying and exciting at the same time. Of course we are soooooo blasé about it now we are more experienced.

Time for a smile I think. Well by now we must all have seen that wedding dance on Youtube, plus all the copycats that came after it. I just saw this wedding proposal today, how the heck will he top this?

Jellybaby that was tops! And here was me thinking that romance was dead and gone :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,108 ✭✭✭Jellybaby1

Ahhh Molly, I've watched it four times today already and I can't stop smiling. I rather thought the first fella with the mop of hair and lovely smile was her fella, he was gorgeous (if I was only 40 years younger! sigh!) How many of us have 60 friends and family members who can dance like this? Sigh! Sigh! Sigh! :D

Since I put this up here it's had another 4 million views on Youtube, and there was only one response here. So it's definite now, romance is definitely dead here in Ireland. (sniffle!) :(

I did the Flora Women's Mini Marathon on Monday all dressed up as a woman. A friend called me last night to say there was a photo of me in the newspaper.

She dropped the paper round this morning and I see I made page 3.

Not many men that can say they're page 3 girls in the Irish Independent. :D

The young blonde in front of me is my 16 year old son. He makes a frighteningly pretty girl.

Well done Rich! Were you there for a charity? By the way, do I see a little too much cleavage there? :o

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 517 ✭✭✭rich.d.berry

    Yeah, the charity was Tearfund.

Too much? I thought it was just a cheeky bit of bra peeking out from my camisole top ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,108 ✭✭✭Jellybaby1

I know Tearfund very well. Excellent charity. Well done. I expect you have recovered by now and are already in training for next year. By the way, how shocking of you, a man, to even know what a camisole top is!! :D

All right, what have yiz all done, you un-romantic Irish guys? That Youtube wedding proposal I put up here is BLOCKED! The last time I checked it had reached more than 12 million views. It was just too good for yiz and yiv missed yer chance! :p

I'd love to do it again, it was such good craic! The crowd I went with were full of banter and Jimmy Chungs were amazing for accomodating us when we all descended on them en-masse afterwards.

I'm hiding in the right of the back row behind the blue haired "girl" in this group photo.

    Tearfundgroup.jpg

I'm actually in training for my first full marathon, the Dublin City Marathon in October and will be fund-raising for Tearfund again. I will first be doing the Portlaoise half marathon as a tester. If I survive that then I'll give the full marathon a go.

26 Years of marriage teaches a man things he never thought he'd learn. :D

I was fortunate to get in early enough to watch it yesterday. It seems that the rights to the video have been purchased by some news corporation. The best I could find is this:

Awww Rich, you're brill, that's the very one. Ohhhh it's fab, I love it love it love it. I must have watched it 20 times by now and the music rings in my ears morning noon and night. The imperfections in the video make it more perfect, for me. I'm sure whoever has the rights to the music is now a billionaire! Thanks for that. :):):)

Hi BBJ, welcome to senior infants! Pull up a pew, Chucken will serve you a bowl of soup shortly! I've just had a 'conversation' with himself about that handball. Why don't they call it an armball? The rolling eyes made me withdraw to a safer spot, but now I'm not so sure it's that safe! :D

Thanks, Jellybaby. Any bit of luck going the Danes got it but that makes their victory that bit sweeter! Anyway, I'm saying that the ball hit his hand/arm, he didn't play it......
