I think Boston Bob and Long Run double and maybe e/w on Burton Port and Quel Esprit tomorrow. That'll be it for me I think

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,775 ✭✭✭✭Slattsy

Can't believe how short Boston Bob is. Might have to double him up alright.
Have Grumeti ante post at 16s and 10s.
Mount Belbulben ante post too but was sure BB was going for the NEPTUNE at the time.

Money back as a free bet with William Hill in the Gold Cup if you back through the Racing Post App.

Burton port e\w looks like being my sole bet tomorrow.

The stress of getting even has me worn out

Bit of a crazy accumulator for the last day:

    1.30 Balder Success
    2.05 Magnifique Etoile
    2.40 Boston Bob
    3.20 Long Run
    4.00 Merchant Royal
    4.40 Open Hearted
    5.15 Slieveardagh

Long Run is a very average Gold Cup champion. Kauto to royal it over him one more time ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,552 ✭✭✭chinguetti

Would love Kauto to win but can't see it and Long Run hasn't trained on for me so i'm looking at something each way for value like China Rock.

Boston Bob is way too short for me so now off i got to the Racing Post for a bit of study.

I'll be backing Boston Bob depending on price, 6/4 ish or more I'd want.

Will do a yankee (maybe an e/w accum too  ) than for fun as it's Gold Cup day and I'll be able to see all races.....

    1.30 Baby Mix
Tough race and 4 or 5 in with a serious and obvious chance but Baby Mix catches the eye.

    2.05 Moon Dice
Was there in November when Moon Dice had awful luck close home, not too much higher in the weights tomorrow.

    3.20 Synchronised
Lexus winner, might be in with a shout if continuing in the mood 'twas in over Christmas, looking forward to watching this race so so much, can't really decide between Long Run or Kauto tbh.

    4.00 Barbers Shop
Just won lto in a poor ole race against a small field of naggish yokes, I'm an ole romantic though and would love to see Barbers Shop win this, does jump well and maybe has been aimed at this.

Is Dj Casey any use of a jockey, very surprised to Paul Townend see riding ut
de sivola ahead of Darroun tomorrow, does this mean the stable think it de sivola is the better animal? Disappointed with this presume there must be a problem.

David Casey is an excellent jockey. Rides plenty of Mullins' horses and JP's number 2 jockey in Ireland

Paul Flynn has come out and said Moon Dice has no chance of winning tomorrow James the way it has panned out. He is now carrying 11-11 and the ground seems to be riding on the slow side. I'm unfortunately in agreement at this stage.

anyone know which race the match bet for paddy power is tomorrow??:)

Win or lose Boston Bob is a awlful price at 6/4 tommorrow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 225 ✭✭Morleystreet

    For tomorrow I'm goin with

Hisaabaat (my nap of the festival!!)
    Sivola de sivola
    Diamond Harry
    Chapoturgeon

Wud love to see kauto win d GC. But have been backing diamond Harry since last year ante post and followed him as he's drifted from 16 to 25 to 33 to 40. I'd win a small fortune if he won, tho he's done nothing this season. Hoping the recent wind op performs d miracle! Still if he was in a photo finish with kauto tink I'd wish for kauto as bit of a sucker for d historic moments!

Good luck to all on day 4.

Good 3rd day has given me a bit of powder for tomorrow.

    1.30 Dodging Bullets 25/1 & Hollow Tree 20/1 both €5 e/w
    2.05 Citizenship 8/1 €10 e/w
2.40 Sea of Thunder €10w 8/1 (before BB confirmed)
3.20 Synchronised €5ew 16/1 (may also back Weird Al ew)
4.00 Salisfy - no bet yet
    4.40 Molotof - €5ew 16/1
    5.20 No bet yet

Love to see KS win it, but from a betting point of view I have to oppose the front 2. Ground was slow side of good today, I think either the World hurdle or Ryanair was run 11 sec below standard, so this this may suit Synchronised.

Hard to see Boston Bob getting beat, see how the first 2 go before having a punt.

Had no clue at all about that, interestingly 'twas good to soft that day he ran there back in November, absolutely lashed rain for hours either the Fri or Sat night iirc. Still, you'd imagine Paul would have an idea about the chances in fairness :)

The Boston Bob hype has gone into overdrive and his current price is madness even though it looks a weak race on paper.

Long Run and Kauto Star are so far ahead of the field in the Gold Cup they arent in the same parish. It is a dismal looking affair.

Rest of the races are very tough.

... or if he had a clear run, he lost a couple of lengths and his stride, I doubt it the ground will be as slow tomorrow. It really was p1ssing down for hours that weekend.

I'm going to include him in my Lucky 15 :pac:

His form is terrible. A 2l beating of Roberto Goldback is handicap standard.

    Quel Esprit won't even place.

thats a disaster for the seven fellas who own him.i hear they have 10 grand each on him at twenties

Just 2 for tomorrow on my prime list.

16.00 - Cloudy Lane. 6/1 Grandad in the race, but new yard seems to be quite confident. Will like both the trip & the ground. Age may be against him, but ran very well in most recent outing.

16.40 - Toner Doudairies. 7/1 Step back to a better distance and this race was choosen over coral cup.

Quel Esprit a possible decent price outsider for the Gold Cup? and certainly not a forlorn hope. Pssibly worth a e.w. / place only flutter.

Boston Bob is too short a price considering the number of horses in the field and the first 2 races are far too open for any decent type of punt, so in reality tomorrows card starts with the gold cup.

btw - I used to post here under a different name and was noted for decent tips on the Curragh card. After a washout yesterday, i had 3 wins today - 7/2 (sir des champs), 18/1 (cape trib) and sunnyhillboy 6/1. Have withdrawn €2100 and have €350 left for tomorrow. :D

Anyone hear anything about Slieveardagh in the last?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 878 ✭✭✭Huntley

Everything has went against Moon Dice at this stage. He needs a fast pace and lightening quick ground which looks unlikely. I'm sure nobody envisaged he would be carrying 11-11 aswell which is borderline impossible to win the County off. I have my wrote my own bet off on him as it is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,591 ✭✭✭skeleton_boy

    1.30 - Grumeti
    2.40 - Boston Bob
    3.20 - Weird Al e/w
    4.00 - Bradley e/w

Just had a decent bet on Long Run at 2/1 my biggest of the week.

But 25/1 Time For Rupert without the big 2
    is serious value each way.

Potentialy 5th place could be a winner.
I know he has'nt looked the same horse this year as people taught he could be but most of the field have question marks over them .

He loves cheltenham and the going is perfect for him.

Mullins and everyone else have been tipping Boston Bob. I fancy him too, but the price is going to be very, very short so might look elsewhere.
