Gta IV was my favourite game of all time. Love the mafia storylines. Another one on the way hopefully.

everything that was in san andreas ! it was the best GTA in my opinion, I loved the massive space between the citiesand the rpg type character building , what ever they do I hope they wont do a niko belic on it , the game was pretty boring , but i've full confidance they wont because The Ballad Of Gay Tony was pretty good and went back to the vice city / san andreas origins

I hope its a back to the roots of the series over the top craziness of VC, SA and TBGT and nothing like the dull crap that was GTAIV.

my fav thing about san andreas was jump of the highest mountain on a bike and parachuting down or climbing as high as i could in a plane and then parachuting down

what i hope the new game brings is something that cant be finished in a few days

Loads of different terrains, I don't want just cities because they're extremely boring after a while.

I took it as a typo for GTA 3, I don't remember any strong Mafia links in 4, whereas the whole game revolved around it, and I'd say it was one of the our on the new PS2 for most of us.... I was blown away by it.

    *Deep breath*

Parachutes, quad-bikes, car customisation, better character customisation, jetpacks, chainsaws, good radio stations, casinos, alien hookers, more varied and badass weapons, weapon customisation, no more friend dates.

(one of them may be a little far-fetched.)

    I will have 2 wishes:

    1. Make it more open and easyer to mod. It will be modded no. Matter what protection they will put in.

    2. Stay the **** out of moders community way!

P.s. actually 3, make it more efficient for pc. Sock of rockstars half arsed jobs when it comes t pc.

In a departure from GTA IV I hope to be able to have fun playing GTA V.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Yea, it needs to be Fun to play again, but that doesn't necessarily mean "silly." Red Dead Redemption was a lot of fun to play, but it was a pretty "serious" sort of setting with humour and great missions thrown in.

Rednecks moonshiners to fight with. :)

They need to get rid of all the dull pointless stuff. I really don't want to do a mission where I have to pick up some girl and bring her for a moonlit walk on the beach, then another where I have to take my cousin to a bar, then go for a burger, then another mission to go and buy a suit, then do some exercise because I'm putting on weight. Seriously, what is the point in all that stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

Yeah, less focus on pointless "achievement" stuff. Eating food, going on dates, bull ****. I actually liked the exercise component in GTA:SA because it had an effect on your hand-to-hand combat ability.

I prefer to just go from mission to mission to mission, or to just arse about blowing up things and stealing police helicopters. I don't need any nonsense of maintaining a "real life" when not on a mission. By all means leave that in, but give me an option to "Automatically hang up when Roman rings looking to go bowling".

Proper co-operative multiplayer I think would add an entirely new dimension to the game. Imagine having a mate flying a helicopter chasing a truck while you fire RPGs from it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,447 ✭✭✭richymcdermott

They need to abandon the phone ringing of the characters you met cause every two seconds

    Ring Ring *

    hey nico wanna go bowling

    no

    Ring Ring *

hey nico wanna go strip club

    No

    Ring Ring *

    Hey nico

    Hang up phone

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

As long they keep closer to ballad of gay tony when it comes with the variety in missions i be happy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,044 ✭✭✭Wossack

I want to be able to put Roman's head in a vice..

Maybe increase the number of social missions? And by increase, I mean decrease, and by social missions I mean, reasons I want to kill myself

    -More Weapons
    -Better variety of Vehicles
    -Car and character customization
    -Co-op Story mode
    -Bigger map
    -New Equipment
-A harder and more complex wanted level
    -More explorable buildings
    -Sports gear
    -Buying houses and exotic items

Yep, if I wanted this I'd play the Fúcking Sims.

I'd like more story options so the path isn't so linear. More branching paths would add to re-playability. Siding with different factions would be cool to get different endings.

Also I'd like to see better gun play. Was a little better in IV, but nowhere near as good as the driving.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 68,317 ✭✭✭✭seamus

More destructible environments would also be an interesting one. Not just running down fences and destroying mailboxes, but big stuff like blowing a hole in the side of a building or using timed explosives to collapse a bridge. Then there's a certain amount of lead time, say a few days in-game while the mess is cleaned up and then eventually repaired.

Quite a difficult thing to do logistically, but it would allow for missions to be completed/failed in a much less predictable way; e.g. "Intercept this truck carrying drugs". You can chase it down the old-fashioned way or you could set up a booby trap to collpase a bridge before they get there.

That does of course mean that missions need to be a little more complex so that a "kill the informant" mission can't be completed by just lining the building with explosives and destroying it.

Time travel and zombies - games these days dont have enough time travel and zombies.

The game need also twists like half way through the game you find out who your father is.

Bosses too - after defeating the mafia you then have to do sword battle with some half man half God to the death.

Maybe some new type of crime missions like insider trading & copy right infringement.

Finally I'd like horses - I would really love to take down mob bosses, assassinate mayors and commit bank robberies whilst on a horse.

I think they need to have more faction activity. For example a wanted meter for each faction in the game like Cops, Triads, mafia etc. Kill a mafia guy walking down the street the mafia guys then all treat you as hostile on a sliding scale until you loose them. Certain factions could have certain vehicals lending the gameplay to a more tactical approach with loosing waned levels eg like Triads using motor bikes so avoid allys and go for straight line speed etc.

It would bring an interesting level to gameplay putting you in a veritable powder keg world. The factions would also need to interact with each other though so based on story decisions they would treat others as a higher threat than most. This would again give a good tactical element where if the mafia group are after you on a 3 star wanted level you could perhaps drive through a rival gangs area to start a three way fight to destroy or loose them.

In terms of story mode a wanted level with a certain faction could lock you out from doing their story missions so a mehanic of doing small level odd jobs for them in order to reduce their wanted level with you would sit well both extending gameplay time and advancing the story / world.

All in all it would feel like a more organic, realisitic and action packed world to play around in if they do this.

    It's more a list of things I don't want:

    - long cut-scenes
    - a character that walks around like he's drunk, tripping over curbs and such
    - cover-based combat (I can dream)
    - 900 identikit steal a car, drive somewhere, get out, shoot some people, drive back missions.

A true arching story where if you do one mission, it may open/close other missions, giving true replay value and a point behind your choices

    What I hope to see:
    - Variety in missions, not just following an arrow, click X to do soemthing, follow arrow again - Mission Complete
    - Gun fights that are up to scratch with current gen standard
    - More interactivity, not just one of 3 types of shop every 8 square miles
    - Mini games that are better than a flash game c.1996
    - Likeable characters
    - less pandering to pubescent oiks

    What I expect to see:
    • Endlessly repetitive missions
    • Horribly simplistic shooting mechanics
    • Attritional shoot outs with a queue of goons pushed towards you by retarded AI
    • Everything renamed with irksome puns
    • Tiresome toilet humour
    • "Adult" dialogue (i.e what seems edgy to a 13 year old chav)
    • The abilty to do "cool" things like take drugs, steal shopping trolleys and urinate on beggars

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,558 ✭✭✭✭dreamers75

More GTA IV style storyline that affects the world around me.
GTA SA madness that affects the world around me.

I reckon this will head that way, with mental options being an option but it will realisticaly punish you in the game world.

Set piece shootouts will become normal, COD 19 has the title of best selling day 1 game .....for GTA to get it back it will need to cater to the SA and IV fans and the game engine is there.

Am i the only one who actually sees some promise with something like this? Imagine it was something a little like the research management in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Between each level you go through menus and allocate people to different parts of your base, send some out for missions, and get rewards and unlock new items. So, in GTA 6 in between missions, you would interact with your own gang, sending them out on raids or drive bys or robberies, or you could use your computer to try to recruit credit card hackers, giving them money to set up with the hope of them eventually stealing money fro, eventually building up to getting someone who can hack into the feds and reduce your wanted level on the fly...
Done well (keep it very quick and simple), it could add some easy to use but deep content to the game.

Horses would be actually be pretty bad ass. They could be tactical too, they could traverse uneven territory (like a thick forest) a lot better than a motorbike or car (they can hop over logs and ditches instead of having to find away around).

A great mini-game that can earn you money like the poker in red dead, or the drug dealing in Chinatown wars.

Just basically a modern Vice City in a San Andreas size world would be epic.

And preferably a savage cast of voice actors, bring on Robert DeNiro as a mob boss, Morgan Freeman as an Illusive Man type character, Jim Carey as a crazy guy...

Oh, and the ability to be the richest person by the end of the game. I think that's part of what made Vice City epic, at the end you were basically a god!

Hell, I must of played nearly every GTA game ... The missions get so repetitive the more GTA games you play (follow, chase, kill etc etc)

    So I say:
    • Better missions. I understand it might add to developmental time. But its been 4 years since the last GTA and its not like Rockstar doesnt have the finances or resources.
    • More to do in the city besides missions. As evident in GTA4 Rockstar was trying to add more than the usual police or taxi side missions. I say just add more.
But basically, there has been alot of GTA games so far. Its time to nudge the franchise along.

bring a lot of things from GTA San Andraes that they left out of gta 4 like country, lorries, hydrolics in cars, monster trucks, car modification, Better clothes selection ya know the kind of things you can spend 5 minutes on over and over again.

BETTER AI aswell cops on gta 4 were crap they just drove past you if you met them and then your gone when they turn around.

I want to play as Chuck Norris riding around on the back of T-Rex. Other than that I would like tighter shooting mechanics, more diverse range of vehicles and the ability to turn off the mobile phone when my cousin calls me.

on edit: I think there are definite lessons to be learned form Red Dead Redemption. I never really got bored tired of that game in the same way as GTAIV wore me out.

the ability to spend money and customise,There's no point in having $100000000 at the end of the game without anything to spend it on other than burgers and car repaints.

A car dealership would be pretty cool too where you could buy "exotic" cars that you can't get on the street.
