Crap MBP battery life (intermittent)

    MacBook Pro unibody 2011. gfxCardStatus installed. Restarted SMC and PRAM. Flash block preventing flash unless I want it. Only running Firefox. Intermittently and inexplicably only getting 2.5 hours battery life and the battery is fine.

    Any suggestions?

    Check Activity Monitor (in Applications > Utilities) and see if there's any rogue processes eating up the CPU.

    Firefox is more than likely the issue. Basically it's a garbage resource hog browser. I consistently get 6 hours with Safari or Chrome, Mail, iTunes and IM apps on a 15" 2011 MBP without gfxCardStatus installed.

    You don't need to do that with unibody Macbook Pros

    I fear my own battery may be dying on 2009 MBP
    Had it fully charged today and took to other room and was fully discharged in under 2 hours
    :/
    Also I don't remember it warning me about a low battery
    :/

    According to coconut, which I only installed recently, my battery max charge has actually increased as so:
    4/3/12 4588 mAh
    8/3/12 4633 mAh
    14/3/12 4726 mAh

    Full capacity at birth was 5450mAh and it has had 914 battery load cycles.

    How is this possible ? Is it planning to explode ?!:eek:

    Note to self...run timemachine today
