I think the poll for the rest of the season should just include two options: Rooney or RVP.

This is a tricky one for myself, mainly down to the predicament I'm in.The guy I'm trying to catch in the cash league (67 points behind, but Ihave been clawing him back) currently does not have Rooney or Dempsey. I do. I can only assume that he is going to get Rooney in this week, and therefore captain him. With this in mind, I may be better off captaining Dempsey, seeing as I need differentials over him from here on in.

Don't be in too much of a rush to catch up, there's still 10 weeks to go. Its a big ask to catch 67 points, but Rooney is such the obvious choice that if you captain Dempsey and Rooney performs as expected, you'll end your chances straight away.

I'd captain Rooney and hope the rest of the team makes you that 6/7 points per week you need. If you are within 15-20 with 2 weeks left you have a chance.

Rooney, rooney and some more rooney.

    ... I said his name 3 times because he'll get a hat-trick against Wolves.

Despite their poor form, Adebayor or Bale home to Stoke are contenders too.

He's my vice captain and probably a lot of other people's too. I know Wolves beat ManU in this fixture last year but it's really difficult to give the armband to anyone other than Rooney given his (and Wolves) current form.

Rooney. On another week I could give it to any 4 other players. But Rooney's the form man. Should be a high scoring gameweek

Rooney the man has delivered for me for past few weeks so even a bad week from him and I could not complain.

Good points! Probably will go with Rooney alright, like you said, the rest of my squad at this stage needs to make the difference back anyway. The gap is 70 is with ten weeks left. Here's hoping.

Yep. It's a big ask to catch 70 but definitely doable. Just need to give yourself a chance, a bit of luck with captain choices and you'll be in with a shout. I almost caught the leader in my league last year, think he was 50 ahead with about 8 weeks left and I just clawed it back, was about 12 points behind going into the last 2 weeks and took a gamble with my captain, didn't pay off and I lost. Kept it interesting until the end though!

Captain Rooney all the way for me,just checked the scores so far for March & I'm 2nd- the guy ahead of me hasn't looked at his team since week 2,he has RVP as captain every week and has Suarez & Ashley Young.

He hasn't a hope of winning the league but still gets decent scores every other week.

Ive just spunked 8 points on transfers to get Rooney in for captain so i hope all 3 goals are his!:D On the other hand i dont know what Fantasy Football has done to my morals, hoping for Rooney to score as a Liverpool fan must surely be wrong on so may levels....

Hopefully this graph is indicative of the general consensus, I'd be happy with a 'safe' week for captain choice, as has happened on numerous occasions with RVP. When enough people captain one player it takes that aspect out of the game, which is what you need when your at the top of your leagues but not what you need when you're trying to close a gap!

Stand to be corrected, but I think Arsenal have a terrific record against Everton at Goodison. So wouldn't surprise me to see them keep up their current form and put a couple past them. In saying that, Wolves are muck, so Rooney it is for me.

I just have a feeling he might start with Berb and Hernandez. He's done it before this season. Last thing you want is Rooney coming on for 1 pt

I disagree - in another game perhaps but the psychological edge of widening the newly formed gap between them and City now is too big a scalp to miss. City could easy drop points against a resurgent Chelsea, and with United not having another game for 8 days I just can't see Fergie doing anything other than going for the kill with his strongest 11.

That's what I'm hoping for. I remember Fergie doing it with Ronaldo against Fulham one time. Just rested him out of the blue and caught half the league unaware.

United are now ahead of City. Yes, it's important to stay ahead of City but I think United are more than capable of beating Wolves without Rooney, and I'd imagine Fergie knows that too. He also has Hernandez and Berba crying out for games.

The flip side though is that Fergie knows Rooney is going well after a lean period so a hat trick against Wolves could really help his confidence and keep him pushing on.

Surely Fergie won't risk him now....

Manchester United will hope Wayne Rooney shrugs off the knock he suffered during last night’s Europa League defeat in Spain in time to faces Wolves on Sunday.

Rooney stayed down following a challenge by Jon Aurtenetxe in the second half of the 2-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao, although he was able to complete the game and score his 27th goal of the season.

Swansea don't concede all that many home or away. My opinion of Fulham, despite some performances to the contrary, is that they aren't exactly an exciting, free flowing team in attack.

Therefore I'm steering clear of my Fulham players for captain.

I wouldn't exactly say that. I seem to remember them conceding 5 away to Blackburn. And Fulham are one of the highest scoring teams at home. I'm putting it on the Pog anyway.

They conceded 4 against Blackburn, 4 against Chelsea, 4 against City and 3 against Norwich twice. In their other 23 PL games this season, they have conceded 2 goals or less. They've only conceded 34 goals this season in 28 games, fairly good going if you ask me.

They're a team who have a good system of defence and I can see Fulham struggling to break them down. Fulham have scored 5 against Wolves, 6 against QPR and 5 against Newcastle.

Of those three teams, I'd count Newcastle as the only one with any decent sort of defence.

I could easily be proven wrong but I just don't fancy handing the armband to a Fulham player myself this weekend.

Don't get me wrong Swansea are a very good team, but they've conceded 10 at home compared to 24 on the road, they're very much a strong home team, much like Fulham. It's anyone's guess what the result will be, but if you're to go on statistics, they point very much to a home win. We'll see though. I'm goin Pog simply coz I'm not convinced Rooney will start v Wolves and I don't want to take that risk, also I'm not convinced VP will find it easy against an Everton team with 4 home clean sheets on the trot, including against City and Chelsea, so Pog it is for me. Nothing's guaranteed in this game though, we'll see how it pans out after the weekend

I know this is RVP we're talking about and Moyes may throw out a **** team, but I'm not fully sure about him.

In fairness, nobody could have predicted that result. I didn't expect Fulham to score many but I didn't expect them to lose 3-0 either.

I haven't seen any highlights of the game but apparently Jol started without his wide players like Duff and Fulham tried to play through the middle alot which just didn't work.

I left Sig on the bench. Praying Valencia doesn't start or play today now.

Swansea fully deserved to win. They looked like Barcelona at times. I kid you not. Outstanding performance
