hi all, im new to this so please bear with me. My son had a circumcision due to medical reasons on thursday. He was allowed home the same afternoon. He developed a green discharge on sat so i brought him to doc on call. The doc was great he prescribed antibiotic and told me to return to hosp in 24 hours if no improvement. I ended up in casualty sunday evening with a child in severe pain. I was kept overnight but was given my marching orders this morning. They gave me my original antibiotic back and some steroid cream. My issue is that there seems to be no change to his wound it is still seeping and he is still in pain. How long until i should see an improvement? I would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

I'm sorry, but medical advice is not allowed to be given out on Boards.ie. You should seek advice of a medical professional right away in this case, so take your child to a local hospital.

I'm really sorry, worriedmum, that sounds very distressing for both you and your son, but this is a forum for the discussion of general "health and fitness", not for medical or professional advice.

In fact, nowhere on Boards will we allow people to give medical advice, and I'm sure you can see why, the anonymous person responding to you *might* be a medical consultant of 20 years standing or they might as easily be a 15 year old regurgitating something they read on Wiki. This site can't stand over that situation, and I'm sure you don't want to take that risk either!

Please do contact a medical professional if you still have reason to be concerned by the time you read this.
