Far to hungover to copy and paste the teams!

It will be interesting to see if Italy can frustrate the Welsh

Can't see any upset here. Wales just too good.

I reckon Italy will have one eye on next week and possible wooden spoon decider against Scotland. Wales by 20-5 points.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,881 ✭✭✭PhatPiggins

Wales will be looking at this one as a tune up for the GS game against France. Italy seem to be rotating/resting players ahead of the Scottish game.

Wales to run riot for me

    Betting has Wales at -21.

Would expect it to be a lot more then that, when you saw how poor Italy were against us.

Ref having a good game so far, picking up on Welsh infringements at the breakdown.

Edit: and again for Italy, good thing he's not ignoring sealing off. It has been let go so often this season.

Ugh George Hamilton... bbc it is so.

Wales are seeing a miss matching the air on the wings. Italy giving away stupid penalties.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    3-0 Wales

Great kick from Halfpenny 3-0 Wales

Wales need to settle down and go through the phases. Far too much kicking.

Wales must have the biggest backline in the world by a long way. They are all machines

    :pac:Gwan Italy!:pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,317 ✭✭✭kevohmsford

They are under serious pressure to stop the red wave coming at them. I love RTE commentary. 6-3 to Wales

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭yimrsg

Italy's flankers have 3 turnovers between them so far, making a real nuisance of themselves at the breakdown. Hope Italy can keep it tight for the remains of the first half.

Italy would be ok if they quit throwing 30 yard passes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,848 ✭✭✭bleg

Great refereeing it has to be said.

Wales are so deep on the attack it's unreal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭OldRio

I'm suprised how many empty seats in the stadium

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,958 ✭✭✭✭RuggieBear

if that is sealing off then every other ruck is too...

    i don't understand the laws anymore. :(

That penalty Italy conceded on their line was ridiculously harsh.

Scrum-Half could be a problem for the Lions.

Phillips isn't up to much, Murray/Reddan is a bit of a mess, Cusiter/Blair are hot and cold, and England don't have anyone standout.

I thought it was a penalty even though Bergamasco robbed it. Welsh player was definitely holding on for 2-3 seconds before he was robbed.

    Phillips still best option though

Was thinking that myself, it seems only 2 thirds full. Strange seeing as they're still on for the grand slam.

I don't think so tbh. Would have Blair in there at the moment

Danny Care will be back from the wilderness / prison

When compared to the competition for other places, Scrum-Half just looks really weak.

Front 5 will be competitive, back-row depth is borderline insane, Fly-half isn't great but Sexton should start replicating his club form soon enough, hundreds of centres and wingers, and my favourite of all is the Halfpenny v Kearney (v Foden?) battle for Fullback. Hogg doesnt look bad either.

Don't understand how Clancy's reffing this game...ridiculously inconsistent. Bergamasco's looking to get a proper fight going

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,308 ✭✭✭✭.ak

Bit of a harsh yellow - but a lot of high ball contesting going a little bit wrong, so I suppose a yellow was due.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,318 ✭✭✭Fishooks12

I don't know what's worse Clancy's refereeing or Davies commentary on the beeb

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,593 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Crinklewood

Yellow just to calm things down.

Yea he's gone bad in the 2nd half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,340 ✭✭✭yimrsg

Thought it was a harsh yellow on first viewing as Halfpenny jumped for it, but on the slow mo from the other side he barely left the ground. Parisse milked it a bit and probably made it easier for Clancy to give the yellow.

I know, it's a shame because he was spot on for most things in the first half. Knew what was going at the breakdown and at the scrums.

Wow I have to say this is one of the worst refereeing performances I have seen in a very long time, at least Ireland can thantk their lucky stars they will never have him reffing!!

Ya I agree, Halfpenny was too reckless and deserved the yellow. How Italy still have 15 on the pitch for the whole game is beyond me though.

Nice Man United style challenge there. :D

Priestland isn't much of a threat to Sexton for the Lions 10 shirt

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,915 ✭✭✭MungBean

Yellow was deserved I thought, he definitely made deliberate contact in the air.

Bargamasco also looking for a fight, he was the same against Ireland in the world cup. He's a great player but gets himself way too worked up.

What did the player win the challenge that was laid down to him?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 326 ✭✭Leinster7

What a poor game. Wales are rubbish and will win a GS. Says it all about Northern Hemisphere rugby really. If only Ireland could fulfil their potential, or at least have someone that could get them to play as they can, they would walk this 6nations...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,261 ✭✭✭OldRio

    Awful match.
    Hamilton on RTE.
    Davies on BBC.
    Blood and sand

Wish i had painted a wall and watched it dry.

Halfpenny only had eyes for the ball, never looked at what Parisse was doing and had no intent to take the man in the air, possibly because he's so small he got underneath Parisse and made the contact look worse. Tough yellow to give in my book.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,386 ✭✭✭✭DDC1990

    ... Hamilton is clueless!

He called it back because of the crossing in the middle!

Fairly obvious I would have thought!

 thats why they were six inches from a world cup final? This has been a game ruined by an irishman dont forget. He has continually allowed Italy to kill the ball
