    Hi,

I'm looking to buy a juicer which will be used mostly on carrots and also needed to be strong enough for ginger root.

Has anyone suggestions on a particular machine which won't break the bank (€150 or much less preferably)

I was looking at the Philips HR1861 and it seems to be reasonably priced

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-HR1861-Aluminium-Juicer-Cleaning/dp/B0007XHGHA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1331305662&sr=8-1

any suggestions or advice welcome as I'm not familiar with these at all and not sure what strength machine you need.

    thanks

I have this exact one at home (in the back of a press!). I used it twice a day for about three months and never had any problems with anything I tried to juice in it.

Just for info. incase anyone else is looking for a juicer- I got the Philips HR1861 over the weekend and although I've only tried it once since getting it, it seems very good and it's a very solid machine.

Used it on whole carrots and apples and it flew through them. It was also easy to clean. I reused the pulp to get the last of the juice out of it too on the low setting.

Anyhow - happy with it :)
