Thats because the presale started at 9am MONDAY morning :D

Yes its fully seated so you will be allocated tickets based on whats available. Avoid the upper circle at all costs!!
When you go to the ticketmaster page you will be asked to pick number of tickets and beside that there is a blank box, type songbook2012 into the box and keep going as normal!
    Hope it works out!

I had no idea about the presale. Didn't even receive a notification from ****ing tickermaster, some kind of service they provide. If I had known I would have been watching like a hawk. Oh well, I got row E stalls tickets. Should be a good enough view.

Presale is nothing to do with ticketmaster! its down to the artist whether they do presale or not and they usually issue the passwords to fans of theirs. I got the passwork from Chris Cornell's website!
We are in E too so see ya there :D

Super gig, a day in the life was awesome. The man has some energy.

By far the best gig I've been too! Could have sat there for the whole night and listened to him! Some fair amount of posers and try-hard loud mouths in the crowd tho! Mostly boggers (first time in the big smoke I think)

Awesome show, pity the people wouldn't just shut up *rant on - especially the eejit (polite term) who made the Timbaland comment - dear oh dear. And the two females in close proximity to me who called him a god and gushed over his voice and then kept on yapping..!

Also probably the most I've ever seen security be so dogged about people taking pics...they were busy all over the place down in the stalls, don't know what it was like upstairs. *rant off

Chris Cornell was brilliant. What a voice. Nuff said.

They may have been the same people as the two in front of me - were in awe for the first few songs and then seemed to get bored.

Great gig, though. Such an amazing voice. Also a great mix of songs; Even some of his stuff that I'm not mad about sounded well.

Only thing that would have made it better was if Eddie Vedder walked out for a duet on Hunger Strike :D

Wow is all I can say.
Have been a fan since around 1990 and this is my first time to see him live (would have preferred soundgarden at download but what the hell)

2 solid hours of brilliant music.
I knew he had a good voice but jesus its powerful, I don't think he hit one bad note.

Was going to give my standout moments but every song was just amazing.
I hate when bands/singers sing cover versions but the beatles cover was class.
Great banter with the crowd but the shouting up at him was embarrassing at times but luckily his voice was powerful enough to drown out the loudest of mouthes.

You could hear a pin drop when he sang "when i'm down" with the vinyl accompaniment, what a vocal..
It was easily the best vocal performance i have heard at a gig since the great Freddie Mercury in '86..
Here's hoping soundgarden play here now..

One of my best gigs ever...

Absolutely stunning. 2 hrs of constant goosepimples on my arms.

When I'm Down made the night for me, I adore the song and it was nice the way he explained about Natasha as she was such a talented artist. I loved CC and Eleven working together.

Security were crazy on photos all right, I was sitting so close yet no photos then again I would say he would have had a pain in his arse with constant flashes all night for such an intimate gig.

The mouths were a bit much alright although I did like the Timbaland jibe. I was sitting on an aisle seat and I was asked" Will you let me get in?" Do people not have manners anymore, I know the Olympia seats are worse that Ryanair but Christ, a sorry/please would not go astray.

bummed I missed this now. I am holding out for a SG solo show.
I have the CC live album, and while it's great, I want to see just SG live!
Some of the recent clips of SG live have been ropey, but not brutal, just a tad ropey. But that can happen all of us!!

    Want SG, want SG!!

Agree with all reviews here. He was amazing. Only downside were the assholes in the audience shouting all the time. I don't know what makes these idiots think that they're A) funny or B) original.

Like the twats at a comedy gig that try to heckle the comedian

get off your high horse there kid....you complain about posers, but look down on 'boggers' as you call them. hypocrite

anyway, the gig. I always said CC would be the lead Singer of my fantasy rock supergroup...and last night proved why. that voice, its beyond words.
main highlights for me were Wide Awake, When I'm Down and Say hello to heaven...but they are just three of many.

Those to loud mouth Yanks actually moved up in to seats in my row, theres were a few rows back. acted stupid when the owners of the seats came along and had to go back to their original seats. guess mommy and daddy couldn't get them everything. And that timberland comment was embarrassing....who was that guy to tell a legend like Cornell anything about who he should or shouldn't work with

  • Registered Users Posts: 743 ✭✭✭KeithTS

The Timbaland thing was uncool, but Chris dealt with it well, made your man look like a fool.

Amazing show, I've seen him a few times in different settings but last night was special in the way it was about the interaction with the crowd and letting us get to see him as a guy and not just as a front man.

I loved his little ditty about getting a discount on tickets unless your parents played!!!

I was joking, relax :L I obviously dont "look down" on boggers. I was just annoyed because of the girl behind me. She was a fool.

Fantastic gig, really really enjoyed it.

I had the displeasure of sitting next to the noisy asshat who made the Timbaland remarks "He's a c**t" , "I put the bullet there"... idiot.

I was embarassed for him, and on the other side of him were the two girls whose parents were funding their round the world trip following Chris...

    GETAWAY CAR...
    GETAWAY CAR...

    GETAWAY CAR...

It was almost funny in the end.
I Laughed at the "Tickets are too expensive" song he did on the spot, to be honest I thought the price was reasonable.

All in all great gig. Roll on Pearl Jam in Manchester next week.

Here's the tiny bit of video I captured before being asked to stop recording.

Somebody captured audio only for the entire encore

The initial remark about Timbaland was funny, not the second.
Scream was panned by critics and fans alike when it came out, I know it gathered a new generation of fans for CC and that was obviously what he was trying to achieve with that album.

For me it would feature at the bottom of his solo stuff but the music from Scream does transpire well live both unplugged and with his backing band

it's not an album I listen to Nea, but having said that when he toured the album the songs were so much better in a live arena, they were like different songs completely and I got the impression that was more how he wanted them to be, I try not to knock artists for trying something new and innovative - but the recorded version certainly didn't do it for me either

I only slightly reduced the res, so the originals are pretty much what you see here.

I thought it was an amazing gig. Saw Soundgarden the other day at DL and was blown away so this was the cherry on the cake :) I liked the crowd interaction but didnt hear the nasty comments! I thought it was great the way he was happy to chat and take requests!

Cant wait til Pearl Jam next week now!!!

I got a couple of photos but didnt take too many cause didnt want to piss people off! hard with no flash and scary bouncers :D

I think you are referring to me and my sister. Never called him a God actually, said " You are awesome! " and just simply really appreciated the music. Everyone expresses enjoyment in different ways. Some people like to sit silently and listen. Others like to sing along and cheer at any given moment. I have been a huge fan since early days and have been to every concert he has had in Ireland. And to the misinformed person who said "...and on the other side of him were the two girls whose parents were funding their round the world trip following Chris..." This is not true, my parents bought me my tickets as a birthday present. My parents aren't millionaires and cannot afford to fund my around the world trip. They are barely affording my fees for uni. If in the future you have a problem with people who like to express there enjoyment with emotion and laughter, you can kindly leave. It was a concert in the end of the day, not a VIP meeting or a conference.

Also I was the one screaming for "Getaway Car". Didn't get to hear it in the end but would have liked to have heard it. :) Was so desperate by the end of it! And I agree the Timbaland comment was bad, therefore I retorted by saying " Timbaland is awesome."
Those to loud mouth Yanks actually moved up in to seats in my row, theres were a few rows back. acted stupid when the owners of the seats came along and had to go back to their original seats. guess mommy and daddy couldn't get them everything.

So many things wrong with that comment. We waited until Paul Freeman was on stage before we moved up. We thought, hey, if there is no one there we may aswell move up. Both of us discussed it and decided since no one is sitting there, we may as well. Once the rightful owners arrived, I promptly apologised and went back 2 rows. Where you the saddo who was by yourself pretending to have a goodtime? Sorry I'm not Irish in my culture when you love someones music you show full appreciation for them when they perform for you. And like I said before, tickets were a birthday present. Don't talk about things you do not know.

Also to the person who said it was probably " my first time in the smoke " or whatever, I have been to several concerts in the past and show just as much enthusiasm every time.

In saying everything I said, the concert was amazing, I thoroughly enjoyed it and enjoyed the crowd that was there. Some people just like to complain about others enjoying themselves. You are more than welcome to leave if you have an issue with people like that. Just know I will be there at the next concert an will not change for anyone. :)
