Found this on the DAA website and used it to book "Airport Genie" for my family departing Dublin Airport at end of April.

From what I can see the main advantages to this service is that you get
    1. Text Alerts for your flight
    2. Access to fast-track boarding pass area
    3. Skip the queue at the security

Would have cost €30 in total, but got it free :D

Valid for departure at Dublin Airport

    Details from DAA website below.....

I've never used this service before, and just bought one using the voucher, however my flight departure is 19:50 and just noticed that I selected 20:00 .
Do you think that it's an issue or there is nothing to worry about?

    Thanks!

I checked the manage booking section and there is no option to edit the booking, the only thing I see is the cancel button.

    thanks

Glad everyone's getting use out of it !

Those of you using the service soon, please post up your experience of it, as I won't be flying out until the end of April.

Also I booked 4 adults as this is what was free in the offer, but we are 2 adults + 2 children so lets hope there's no hassle on the day.

You might be selecting the wrong service - this happened to me last night when I tried to book the "family" option and this code will only work for the "speed" service

I've used it before, very handy to avoid long queues at security, mind you I also had access to one of the Executive lounges.... Free beer & snacks Nom Nom :D

The executive lounge doesn't seem to be listed in the advantages of this service. Maybe you booked a different package?

I had a question earlier , and since you already used this service before , you might be able to help me:
I've selected 20:00 as my flight departure time while it's 19:50. Do you think it's a problem or there is nothing to worry about?

    Thanks

Does it let you get priority boarding on Ryanair flights?

That will cost you extra and is payable to Mr O'Leary directly.

It only gets you through to security quicker.

Used this last Friday. Was good in that you're straight through security. Thanks OP.

Its a bit weird in T1 the way it spits you out at the top of a queue... hard to explain... you'll see it in practice...

Yeah I used this last Sunday. Went through business/domestic security and yer one just said go through and skip the queue. Felt a bit weird and I was waiting for someone to shout at us but very handy all the same as the queue was huge :D

    Cheers OP

I guess they are giving away a lot more than 250 of these as I just booked now for a flight on the 10th of April and it was showing "4 of 197".

@BArra from my confirmation email it says:

    If you do not receive your Voucher within 72hrs of arriving or departing flight please do one of the following;
Go to www.airportgenie.com. Click on Manage my booking at top of homepage and recall the voucher from the website
    Or
call 01-9442020 (+353-1-9442020) to have the voucher reissued to you.

I was able to print the vouchers from the genie website. I also had contact from an airport Genie rep and they followed up on it

Pretty good service by all accounts

book for 1 person and yarn change the numbers travelling where you put in the code.

I booked for wife and baby no problems and the myself a month later

I'm trying to book for one for mid-April and I'm also getting the invalid code message. :( Couldn't find any way to change the number of people travelling as per Whitney Fast Teamster's suggestion at point of entering the code.
    Ah well...

Yep, I just copied and pasted the code from the OP, but I just tried it again and it is now coming up as an invalid code, seems like I got lucky this morning.

Hiya, just wondering if there is any other feedback on this service?

I'll be using it on Sunday morning with the family at T2. Overall is it just mainly just to skip the queue at security?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 409 ✭✭karlyk1

Yeah, pretty much 'top of the queue' for security and a couple of text messages letting you know your flight status. But be sure to show the 'helpers' in the airport your Flight Genie voucher so you can sneak to the top of the queue... otherwise you'll have a load of irate passengers thinking you're a cheeky git! ;)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,323 ✭✭✭Savman

The texts are good but I never received an email with the tickets so had to go back to the site and login and retrieve them that way. Also we used the Fast Track in T1 and the agent didn't seem to know how to scan the thing.

So we were held up a few minutes in what was supposed to be the Express lane while punters in the normal Q moved along, made the whole thing seem a bit pointless really.

Not a service I could see myself regularly paying for tbh.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,748 ✭✭✭Do-more

Yes the only function of this free voucher is to skip the queue at the security check. You can buy other things like porter services (i.e. what used to be know as Red Caps)

I used it in T1 on the Tuesday morning after Easter.

As it happened there wasn't a huge queue for the security check anyway but we rambled up to the express lane anyway.

I presented the Airport Genie vouchers to the women there and she first told me that no this lane was for business class or whatever.

But I insisted that the Airport Genie vouchers served the same purpose.

Jaysus, sorry luv, nobody has briefed me about these things was the reply.

So there then ensued about a 3 minute delay as she tried to figure out how to use them, consulting a colleague first and then calling over her supervisor before letting us through.

The vouchers have to be scanned in conjunction with the passengers boarding card and as there were 4 of us travelling in a family group this caused her some difficulty in trying to figure out which voucher should go with which boarding card

She didn't manage to get two of the vouchers to scan properly as the system kept saying "passengers boarding card must be scanned first" even though she had just scanned the correct boarding card.

So at the end of all the rig-ma-roll she called over the supervisor and he said to her well just visually check that the dates on the voucher correspond and let them through.

So in our case we probably would have been quicker in going through the normal channel.

Hopefully these teething problems have been ironed out by now but the need to scan the voucher in conjunction with the relevant boarding card is definitely a shortcoming of the system if you are travelling in a large group and one that could and hopefully has already been corrected by a little computer programming.

I realise that you probably don't need to know all these gorey details I am just posting them here in the faint hope that someone from Airport Genie would see them and take note so as to improve their system.

I was of course using a free voucher on that occasion, had I paid for it I would be demanding my money back.

Would I pay for the service in the future? No, not unless I knew the system had been vastly improved and even then only if I were travelling at peak times such as the end of July.

I used in in T2 last week. They initially told me that it was a business class lane but once I told them we had the vouchers there was no problem.

I had a voucher for May while my wife and son had one fro last week. I had to book an unplanned flight for last week at short notice. I just phoned the office a few days before and it was changed over the phone and the voucher sent to me.

It was a great service but I dont know if I'd pay €22.50 for the 3 of us.

    Hi Guys
Darren here, i run online operations for Airport Genie - I have been reading with interest your issues. Can I ask you PM me with your travel dates and flight number so i can follow up on these problems.

I am working very hard with the Security agents and managers to ensure all Airport Genie clients transit the FastTrack area in quick time as this is what you are paying for. I must state that a very high number of clients experience just that service but I am aware things happen and some staff are not aware due to being absent from training for what ever reason.

Your details will help me identify these staff and advise them accordingly with the correct training.

If you need any information on Airport Genie please contact me through the PM or email darren@airportgenie.com

    Thanks
    Darren
