Cardio while increasing weight

    Hi

Im looking to increase my overall weight, and build muscle at the same time, now I've got my plan out over the next weeks/months but the one thing that I am still confused on is the cardio element. Im resistance training every second day and have one swim day in there too. But I do have a small bit of a belly and want to get rid of it.

Ive read that cardio defeats the purpose of gaining weight but I figure there should be a bit in there somewhere? Like is 15 minutes at the end of a resistance session going to hamper my weight gaining?

No,15-20 mins 2/3 times a week wont hamper your gains. The extra cardio will infact help you consume more calories, and its also good for your heart and lungs......its a win/win:)

Great, the way it stands i'd usually end the session with 15 minutes of cardio and then the swim day as I said. Just wanting to make sure :-)

Not at all, in your 15 minutes you'll probably only burn about 150 calories.

I go for a 6km run every other day and I haven't suffered from any weight loss. I've still managed to put on weight. I also do 10 minutes cardio at the start and end of my gym sessions.
