Renting a yacht in Ireland?

I want to rent a yacht so that my wife and I can practice sailing a bigger boat. I know I can rent a 21ft sailboat from Shannon Sailing in Tipperary but I'm looking for something bigger than that - about 30ft would be perfect but I'd settle for 26ft or more. I have my ICC. I'm willing to travel almost anywhere in Ireland and I'd happily take an instructor or skipper along but I can't afford to pay ridiculous prices. Can anyone help??

    Thanks!

Have you thought about a Flotilla Holiday in Greece.

My girlfriend and I went on one last year to the Ionian Islands. It worked out around €700 a head for a 28ft cruiser, everything was included at that price, flights, transfers. Sailing is amazing and you don't need much experience, your ICC will suffice. The Ionians are great for the novice sailor but there are other parts of Greece that are a bit more challenging.

Check their website, they always have last minute offers and possible deliveries at the end of summer.

    Hey cfitz,

Whe are you based and what experience do you have? I have a Beneteau First 310 (31 ft) in Dun Laoghaire and would be happy to take yourself and your wife out and let you do all the practice you like. Let me know if you are interested.

Thanks for the replies guys. The main reason I was looking for some practice was because my wife and I had a booked a bareboat charter in Greece. We just got home from our charter yesterday and we had a great time in our Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 32 (a bit more practice beforehand would have been useful though). As well as being a great holiday, the charter showed me what areas would be useful for me to work on. Pity it's difficult to get good experience on bigger boats at home without spending a fortune.

e_m20, I'll send you a private message now.
