Missed period but not pregnant

    Hi all,

I'm 32 and came off the pill in Dec after being on it for about 3 years. My husband and I have decided to try for a baby but as of yet have had no luck. When I came off the pill, it was a week after my last period but my period came again. I goy my period as normal then in January, approximately 32 days into my cycle. I am now on day 40 and there is still no sign of my period. I have taken 3 pregnancy tests over the last week and a half and all have been negative (unfortunately). I'm really confused as to what is going on as even before I went on the pill my periods had always been regular. Has this happened to anyone else, or does anyone have any idea as to what might be happening?

    Thanks

It can take a few months for your period to return to a regular cycle when you come off the pill. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Pretty standard, but mention it to your GP next time you're there, or go see him during the week if you're at all worried.

Don't ask strangers on the internet. Go see your doc.

    firstly, see your doctor. :)

secondly, withdrawl of hormones do take a while to settle down. You need to give your body time to adjust to that change.

There are many reasons you may not have or skip a period - I had a condition that can cause periods to cease- and it was easily fixed - as you can see from my sig, it was all good in the end - talk to your doctor.

It's by far the best advice you could get. It's why asking for medical advice is not allowed hereabouts. For very good reason. Hope your Doc gives you the answers you need

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
