Are Kettlebells any good and waht advantage do they have over Dumbells (are they better). I have a full weights set at home but was thinking of getting one to add to my equipment. Also hat weight would you suggest for someone who is 6ft 1 and 13 stone. And finally can anyone suggest any good home workouts with a kettlebell?

Where are you from? I'm considering buying kettlebells in the near future but, based on previous advice on this forum and others, will be going to classes beforehand. They're held all over the place these days and will teach you the moves as well as give you an idea of what weight kettlebells to go for.

Wow, he REALLY REALLY doesn't like kettlebells.

They're not the be all and end all of training that some people claim them to be, but they're a good addition to any training routine. I'm using them quite a bit as part of my own training at the moment, but they're a part of the overall program, not the main focal point of it.

I get my own from Mark Bunce at www.d8fitness.com - usually some good offers on there and he's very straightforward to deal with.

Definitely worth sourcing a good workshop or series of classes before trying them at home though -get your technique right from day 1 and you're laughing. Once you know the basics, there's an absolute tonne of workouts and videos available online - youtube/google will be your friend here.

Start with a 16kg, but if you can afford I'd say grab a 20kg as well.

His argument seems to be the highly motivated genetic elite with multi year training experience don't use them, so you shouldn't either.

I glanced through it. Mostly nonsense and stupid examples.
