Lawn problems

sure what to do with my lawn as of now its in terrible condition parts of it are barren and other parts im getting flooding.Would i have to go as far as digging it up and putting down french drains or would be able to rotavate and put down some top soil its a garden in a new estate so god knows what is buried…

Moonfish your images are not coming up - so i can only guess as to your problem.

You say its a new estate so - yes probably it could do with Topsoil.

Anyway, if you cant afford Topsoil - and as you say some parts are flodded and some barren of grass i would suggest you either dig it up or make lots of holes with your fork in the soil to make drainage. Follow this with new grass seed.
