It was previously blue and called GH Endurance, not sure if they used bad undercoating or if they should have instead sandblasted back the blue paint before going with the navy grey.

Wow, I first saw an artist's impression of such a vessel in "Insight" magazine in the early 80s, their ship was unmanned, remote controlled by satellite and navigated by GPS too 👍️

Amazing that it's taken 40+ years to come to pass, the 80s-on era of "cheap" oil (but at vast cost to the planet) killed off a lot of technologies that in the 1970s appeared to be just around the corner and were economic given high oil prices at the time.

I used to do swimming classes in a pool in Dundrum which only had a 5ft deep end, apparently it was built in the early 70s with a 6ft deep end but after the 1973 oil crisis they partially filled it in to save on heating!
