I set up a non-family and friends account recently dedicated to retro gaming and music,
I find there's less distractions that way, and helps to concentrate on those interests.

    How did you do this?

Just set up a facebook without my real name, but my username instead.

You have to be careful though, because they have a filter on generic names like Mr., mister etc...

And you must provide a first and second name, so in your case you could use something like Enter Now.

And of course you solely add people relevant to your interests....

That was grand for a while until I started adding real life friends.... :p
so recently I setup a real account to add them and family and deleted them from the retro account.

I am back to less than 3 friends on the retro account now however! :pac:

I managed to get a guarantee of a medium size donation(non sponsorship)of 1000 euro to start us off.

Can't say the name of the company just yet(at their request)but you know them and they're good for it :)

Can a bunch of us get together to have a face to face meet up at some stage to discuss all this?

Yeah. Hence the need for an actual sit down so we can find out who is serious and about what.

I'm happy to throw my support behind something like this... but I'm not altogether sure what it is any more.

Yeah, we'll need to sort out some sort of meeting to decide what we want to do. We all seem to have our own ideas as to what it should be(which might lead to a few issues).
And its going to cost money to do it either way so we need to have a chat about that side of things as well.

I'll be back in Ireland on the 20th of this month, so if we can hold off on a meeting until after that I'd appreciate it.

Speaking of which, I had the oddest experience last night.

Went to a gig in Vicar Street - was a load of ****e. Full of hipsters. Pretty much ran out screaming.

Crossed the road and went into the first bar I could see, which was the Thomas House.

My girlfriend goes 'oh look, they have an arcade cabinet! Go on, have a go'.

I looked at it and my jaw hit the floor.

    'SWEET JESUS! MY OLD CABINET!!!'

It was like being reunited with a long lost child or something.

Unfortunately I had to leave the bar as it was also full of hipsters.

Still, really feckin weird seeing something I was at one point so fond of on site in a pub in the city centre. Bit sad too that it was no longer mine :(

Was Mons. Ultimate there, with his hipster buddies, comparing iPhone apps or something?

Have hipsters replaced junkball scum on Thomas Street or something?

Heh, I was looking out for Mr Ultimate alright but no sign. He was probably hiding behind a fedora.

I think I'd rather the junkball scum - at least they're not trying to impress anyone.

Sig of 2012 so far. I also love that you can be randomly annihilated in A&R by not even saying anything :D

Hilarious and so true, one of the things that makes A&R brilliant fun!
Yet sometimes a person can escape such abuse or a "photoshopping" even if they admit to buying PM Dawn music.
