Ok so here is my deal. I want to gain weight as I am quite skinny and recently have put up a couple of pounds simply by cutting out all cardio work and eating more food.

So it seems to be working except, the weight I gained seemed to all be in my stomach. My stomach actually starts to stick out and yet I am still skinny which is starting to make me look quite wierd :o

Anyway, has anyone experienced this and have any suggestions, tips. I guess If I up my calories I should be doing weights too which may help..?

Slowly, with a clean diet and exercise will help with the distribution of fat where it is needed.

Especially if you are gaining don't cut out cardio! it helps your body function and gain in a healthy way, weights will be good to introduce but also with a focus on exercises to target your abdomen, don't go above the healthy range for waist.

As for gaining eat good foods even though you're trying to gain, if you try and do this as quickly as possible the results will not be great your body needs time to adjust, you don't want stretch marks or to not be able to stop gaining, maintain and slowly gain, keep within a recommended fat % and gain muscle (it doesn't mean you will look muscle) its just not worth decreasing your health to look "better".
I don't know if you're male or female but if you're female don't get scared by the idea of gaining muscle, lauramustloseweight is a good example of someone who is feminine, fit at 140 pounds.

    Questions for you OP,
    1. What weight training are you doing at the moment ?
    2. When you say you have been eating more food, what has that food been made up of (example meal and snacks)?
    3. Have you actually put on fat around your stomaach or is it just sticking out? Could you be bloated?
Building yourself up involves eating the right food and doing the right weight training for you at a commited level, would you say that you are doing this at the moment?
