Huge game this weekend as Spurs go the Emiretes on Sunday with a few injuries and a few decisions to be made in the team.

Arsenal with their own injury worries will be looking to kick start a faltering season that sees them ten points behind Spurs in the league.

    Team News

Spurs will be hoping attacking duo Rafael van der Vaart and former Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor come through late fitness tests to help their quest for a first Premier League double over Arsenal since 1993.
Benoit Assou-Ekotto underwent minor groin surgery last week, but is expected to play while Aaron Lennon and Jermain Defoe have also made full recoveries from recent injuries.

Arsenal will be sweating over the fitness of Wales captain Aaron Ramsey, who limped out of the side's 2-0 cup defeat at Sunderland, striker Marouane Chamakh (toe) and central defender Laurent Koscielny (knee).
Fellow defenders Per Mertesacker and Santos remain sidelined with ankle injuries, while Jack Wilshere and Abou Diaby are also definite absentees.

Mike Dean has been appointed referee for Sunday's match, not a good omen for the Gunners, who have failed to win any of the last 11 league games with the Wirral official in charge.

I think spurs will line up as
    Friedel
    Walker -- Kaboul--King--Benny
    Lennon--Parker--Modric--Bale
    VDV
    Adebayor

Possibly Saha for VDV if he isn't 100% fit.
    2-1 Spurs COYS!
    Let the mayhem Commence!!!

    Come on you Spurs!

Very difficult to predict. Arsenal on a terrible run, but it's a derby and they're at home. Spurs with a better XI on paper...

There'll be goals and both teams will score. 3-2 to ?

Will be a cracker as this fixture generally tends to be, with a bit of extra spice due to Adebayor's return to the emirates. There won't be as hostile a reception since Cashley's return to the emirates a couple of years ago!

If Spurs turn up, this could be a dark day for Arsenal and there is nothing to suggest they won't.

First time in donkeys years that Spurs are coming to our place and I'm not expecting us to get 3 points just by showing up.

    It's refreshing.

Still think we''ll piss all over them though.

    Because we are Arsenal.

Not looking forward to this one at all. As soon as we lost to Milan in such embarrassing fashion, we were due a bad run. The right result could stop that dead in its tracks, but it's going to take a hell of a performance to beat this Spurs team today!

koscielny supposed to be fit to play today. Teams news soon...

I'll be happy if we don't let in 3+ goals.

Spuds being favourites makes me feel...

Szczesny; Sagna, Kosc, Vermaelan, Gibbs; Arteta, Song; Rosicky; Walcott, RVP, Benayoun.

Freidel; Walker, Kaboul, King, AsEkotto; Kranjcar, Parker, Modric, Bale; Adebayor, Saha.

    Arsenal XI:
    Szczesny,
    Sagna, Koscielny, Vermaelen, Gibbs,
    ---Song, Arteta, Rosicky,
    Walcott,
    Benayoun,
    Van Persie

    Solid team for Arsenal

    Freidel;
    Walker, Kaboul, King, AsEkotto;
    Kranjcar, Parker, Modric, Bale;
    --Adebayor, Saha.

Intresting 4-4-2 for us Lennon on the bench is some sub to have.

Arsenal with Ox and Gervinho too - subs could reallly make an impact today

Think this could be a rout. I'll go with a conservative 4-0 to Spurs.

if Djourou and/or Squillaci were playing i'd agree with you. They're not even on the bench so I think it will be a bit tighter than that.

Agree 100% expecting a draw but would love a spurs rout of Arsenal!

Great to see kos and gibbs starting. Not sure about Walcott ahead of Gervinho and ox but benayoun deserves a chance

Not sure about Ox being dropped but at least Gerv and himself have the ability to come on and change a game.

wouldn't that be our first choice back 4 in most people's eyes?

I wonder how long until Arsenal lose a defender to injury?
    I'd say within 30 minutes.

With gibbs on the pitch I'd say within 10

Good point - commentators often mention how Van Perise's goals are stopping us from being mid-table or lower, but if we hadn't suffered the defensive injuries we've had this year, how much higher would the Gunners be ?

To be fair I'd blame your midfields lack of protection for Defense more than anything else.

    Anyone watching Sky's build up?

Quite obvious that Ian Wright and Glenn Hoddle don't really see eye to eye.

Wright calling him 'Gaffer' sounded more condescending than respectful.

Oooh, The Red Knight. I like it! 46% of our goals :o

That's a good point to be fair - oh for the days of Vieira and Petit !

Yet another last chance for Walcott. Disappointed he's starting but at least we have attacking options on the bench.

Can we do the unthinkable? Finish the game with the same back four that starts it?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,019 ✭✭✭davycc

As a Spurs fan Id love to give wenger another excuse to throw his bottle away:D

Id love a win but realistically a draw is looking likely in this game:)

Good luck to the Gunners too Im hoping for a great 90mins with positive attacking play by both sides:cool::cool:

Arsenal would be more likely to win big than Spurs here imo, Spurs being very overrated in here...

if he does as well as in the last home game, i'd be delighted

Credit where credit is due, spurs have been class this season and are clear favourites to win this. Having said that I hope they don't :D

Take a draw here tbh, would be a good result for our ambitions for 3rd.

Its a massive game, but experience maybe with ox and possibly gerv being tired, but personally i would have rathered ox and gerv ahead of walcott and and benayoun. But either way come on the gunners.
