Is it possible to extend a wireless network to a second router but have a different security key on it? Is it difficult to do?

The second router is a Buffalo Airstation nFiniti DD-Wrt.

How is the second router connecting to the first one.

If it's a cable connection then its no problem. Choose a different channel to the other router if that is also broadcasting wireless to minimise interference.

You have to make sure the lan IP of both is in different subnets. If one is 192.168.1.1, change the other to 1921.68.2.1
