just bought an amiko sthd 8820 - it has a nice gui layout and am generally pleased with it - recordings / picture quality / media playback etc

do any of you know where i could download a channel list / software to edit channels and upload my own custom channel list ?

Check the PVR with Live TV. I had to return mine cos it didnt work. Trying to figure out what to buy instead.

    hi mike
seems ok here - was using a sandisk cruzer 8gb (blade) it was ok for SD material recording and timeshift - but struggled with HD bit rates and ended up very start /stop / pixellated (lack of sufficient speed in the sandisk i'd blame for that)

I use a western digital 1tb and it works fine. Its a 3.5 inch usb 2.0 drive, about a year old.

Guys. Just got my hands on the 8820 combo. I can't find Ireland as a setting to scan the terrestrial channels though? Any hints or tips?

Just use UK, it'll find the channels when you scan

0/49 fails. I obviously have to check my arial booster box in the attic. Haven't use the arial in years. Cheers bud.

Your aerial may not be suitable?

Arial suitable. Box maybe faulty. Loaded a. abs file onto the box. Dvb channels only work if the box is positioned a certain way "on the floor". Not bothered too much anyway. Just got word this evening that I'm getting the Alien. All this cos my 800 died yesterday

I am looking for info on how to get the EPG for the freeview channels on my Amiko 8820HD. Its working fine for the saorview channels, but only shows current and next channels for (most of) the satellite stations.

There was a solution posted here 7 months ago, and a link to http://sat-support.org/?a=downloads&dir=75, but that's dead now.

    Any ideas?

That was the solution to 7 day epg for terrestrial, not satellite. The sky satellites don't give out 7 day epg to non sky boxes, now and next only, all free to air boxes are the same.

Have you a current channel list by any chance.
What is the best way to go about doing this oneself.
Is it possible to transfer the listing on the 8820 to a laptop via the network and edit it there or is it transferred by usb. I see there is edit software Alieditor available.
    Thanks

    Hi all,

looking for some information regarding the recording a Amiko 8820 box.

    Have tried using a
    • Scandisk 4Gb flash drive
    • A 64Gb flash drive
    • A Seagate GoFlex 1Tb (but the Amiko doesn't recognise it)
Constantly getting recording problems relating to "device speed is too slow" type of error.

So am looking for any recommendations regarding an external hard drive.

    2 I have looked at on ebay are;
    • Core 120gb External Portable 2.5" USB 3.0 Hard Drive
    • Intenso 1Tb (1000Gb) USB 3.0 Superspeed Portable Hard Disc Drive

And before wasting any more money was hoping to get some advice/recommendations.

Really like the box but the lack of reliable recording really is frustrating

    Thanks in advance.

Hi all. Is there any way of adding iptv streaming links to the channel list of the Amiko 8820...or is it even capable of playing back same?
