I'm announcing the end of skinny and tapered jeans. Its over... it didn't work.

Its time to get back to jeans that sit well on your footwear.

    Good news, eh?

On another note,Girls should wear those leggings all the time, especially without long tops.

I can't stand them myself but many women went with 'the fashion' and if you've got the figure I suppose why not

I couldn't believe how many fellas were roped into it though - nasty :)

I can still keep my jeggings though, right?

Men with tight jeans don't seem to be around much anymore.

Now what we need to focus on now is men, and especially teenagers, wearing fedoras/trilbies.

    You don't look cool!

I saw a kid of about 14 wearing one at the cinema the other day and I have never hated a person more in my entire life.

Ah Geez you're not Jedward are you ? :D

Down with that sort of thing !

With you on the Fedoras though

After a year or 2 of going into clothes shops and trying on and even buying so called straight leg jeans, only to look like a tit. I threw in the towel today and bought on a pair of bootcut jeans.... felt f**king liberated. They turned out to be what i would expect genuine straight leg jeans to be. Not flare-ish or wider at the bottom than at the knee. Just a decent fit that sits well on my footwear.

Don't like those really skinny jeans, but the ones that cover nearly all of your shoes are also fucking bad. For me anyway. Not really bothered by what other people wear.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,587 ✭✭✭Pace2008

A lot of people would be best advised to avoid them, but they do look well on some guys of a particular physique.

I find the upset and distress the mere mention of skinny jeans inflicts on Boards users to be quite bizarre.

Oh it can be done well, but there's a big difference between The Blues Brothers, Indiana Jones, Humphrey Bogart and Don Draper on the one hand, and a hipster douchebag or a smug, spoiled 14-year old on the other.

Couldn't agree more but fedoras are the least of my concerns with hipsters. Was in the Bernard Shaw a while back and saw a guy who was late teens/early twenties smoking a pipe. It's getting harder to be unique dontchaknow.

I love faux maths! Manipulate this gives.. Skinny jeans/no + man/no = 0 or skinny jeans = no - man. I dont mind them, variety = spice + life etc

Doesn't bother me in the slightest. I like wearing high top runners so I wear tapered jeans, often as not. They can be taken to extremes though...

While you're at it could you get rid of new jeans that already have about five years of wear in them? I'm sick of not being able to get anything besides jeans with rips all over the place and dirty looking yellow patches.

Skinny Jeans must go, my Cankles don't suit them.

Girls with slim legs look good in them.
As for guys that can actually fit into skinny jeans.....no comment

Some girls. Some really shouldn't. To paraphrase something I heard recently
"Leggings are a privilege, not a right"

While were banning skinny jeans can we also ban males wearing make up, moisturiser or hair gel.
I walk around and look at the younger generation and all I see are girls and really really ugly girls.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,990 ✭✭✭longshanks

Can we just ban everything we don't like?
    That should work.

Skinny jeans aren't too bad - but those tapered jeans freak me out. Recently discovered there's a style called Guerilla, where it seems you basically walk bow legged.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,579 ✭✭✭charlietheminxx

Thank god! They are not designed for people with thighs like mine so hopefully the shops will start having more decent jeans again :P

Of course, at least I acknowledged that they aren't flattering on me and so never wore them.... unlike some other people who wore them anyway. The horror D:

The skinny painted jeans are nasty. But most jeans are.... rather tight nowadays, but look better than the old wideys!
Carrot and dropped crotch jeans are a newer style emerging that make me want to puke on a bus. You'll see one of the lads in Geordie Shore wearing them. (Not that I watch that ****e....alright once!)
I'm also starting to see blokes wearing bright red jeans:eek::eek:
I'm getting old because I just couldn't go there!

    Nasty Carrot Jeans!

No. Bootcut ftw. Dad jeans are Jeremy Clarkson jeans, and they are not bootcut.
