Eating before gym?

    Hello all,

At the moment on gym days, I have breakfast at around 10:30 lunch at around 13:00, and after gym I'd have dinner at 21:00/22:00

So, dinner is usually (very) late in the day, and I'd like to stop it, but I don't think I'd be able to eat before gym, as I'd fear getting a stitch. I do 20/30 minutes of cardio (usually the rowing machine) before weights, and I think if I eat dinner before gym, I'd get a stitch during the cardio.

So, does anyone here have any ideas? If I have a large lunch I'll just be drowsy after the meal, but if I don't, I'll be hungry after gym.

    Open to suggestions.

Have you actually tried it to see how it goes? Different people seem to be able to handle it better than others.

Maybe move the cardio to after the weights???

I have gotten away with eating a "not too heavy" dinner 30 mins before doing cardio. Depends on what you eat.

May as well try it, I suppose. In the past, I would have always tried to not eat an hour before swimming.

May be an idea. Would still have to do some "warm-up" cardio before the eights, though.

I used to be unable to eat up to two hours before the gym, not I can eat 2 chicken fillets and half a cup of rice and a preworkout shake and it's great. I reckon you can get your body used to eating before exercising.
