How do I work out how many calories I need?

Can anyone recommend a good website where I can accurately/sensibly calculate how many calories I need?

Of course I have looked online but they all seem to spit out different results/advice, and all make broad generalisations. I want to put together a decent nutrition plan. My goal is to reduce bodyfat. As I play sport at a decent level, I can't simply cut calories as I dont want to sacrifice energy levels or recovery, so I feel I really need to get it right.

The background is that I have been fooling myself for years that I am "athletic" because I play sport. Had my eyes opened lately after DXA scan saying I had 22% bodyfat! I think I will be a much better player if I can reduce this.

Anyway, any help or advice at all is very welcome.

    Thanks.

    Lyle McDonald, http://www.bodyrecomposition.com/fat-loss/how-to-estimate-maintenance-caloric-intake.html

read it, but the quick version is

For weight loss body weight in lbs x 11->13
For maintenance body weight in lbs x 14->16
