Surprised there isn't a thread already.

22 mins gone. Leverkusen look really nervous, so far.

Barca just don't look the same without Xavi. While they are on top they just don't dominate games as much.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,578 ✭✭✭✭Turtwig

Agreed, they look less sharp sword wise. Lots of possession, but somehow Xavi presence always seems to make them look sharper.

Barca haven't provided even half the entertainment factor that Real have this season. This hurts the eyes.

I backed leverkusan at 15/2, i thought they were a bit of value.

To help your bet, they could be less negative.

Watching on TV3. Is Messi playing? I can't tell since the commentators haven't mentioned him at all.....

He just set up that goal with a brilliant pass.

Fear there will be more Barca goals in the 2nd half.

1-0 HT. Leverkusen game plan gone up in smoke. Personally, I think they should carry on like they were, you never know they might get lucky on the counter. Would make for a boring game, but it's their best chance. Barca have a spring in their pass now, so I don't think you should go open with them. One goal down isn't too bad and if you can play piss off the crowd at the Camp Nou with "negative" play then you always got a chance there.

*Even though it's unpleasant to watch I don't mind that style of play as long as it's not cynical hacking and slashing and kicking.

    :D

    Get in Bayer!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,785 ✭✭✭✭Paul Tergat

Fair play. They need a big lead going to Camp Nou to have any chance

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,893 ✭✭✭The_B_Man

Good bit of pressure, results in a Bayer goal!!!

Well done Dutt for making changes.

    Edit:

That Bayer goal woke Barca up!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,416 ✭✭✭Jimmy Iovine

If they bothered trying Bayer could get something out of this. Barca are poor enough tonight, bar Sanchez's two goals.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,630 ✭✭✭steelcityblues

    Much better second half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,369 ✭✭✭LostBoy101

If that went in it would of shocked Barca.

As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with you. Their passing at times has been really sloppy. They look knackered. :(

    It's Alvez, not Alvayz.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,351 ✭✭✭Orando Broom

Trevor Welsh doesn't care about what happens in the game so long as Barca's rattle in four or five. It is not so much commentary as voyeurism. I hope he doesn't leave his pants in the press box.

Close call there for Barca, should have been 2-2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,974 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Why did Castro get booked? It was Busquets that tried to play Castro off the turf.

'Cause Barca are paid to dive week in and week out.

Great refereeing there. Another hopeless official

Brutal decision. Busquets checked Castro. He is a fine footballer, Busquets, but I would love to see him wiped out by the most agricultural tackle in sports history. Love it.

If Roy could come back for ten minutes. Busquets is an utter scrote.

    Amazing decision by the ref.

Now how the **** is that a free? That's years of work on building your core so you stand your ground shoulder to shoulder. Ridiculous.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,148 ✭✭✭✭Raskolnikov

It's a shame Leverkusen don't have the confidence to go for this because Barcelona have been poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,351 ✭✭✭Orando Broom

    Again!!!! That is bollix.

    Redundant comment.

The ref pulls the cards. The linesman waves the flag.

Agree 100%,Castro should have stayed down a bit longer,Guardiolas reaction to the incident didnt help Castros cause either, strange decision by the ref

I'm kinda bored watching this. Nothing happening really. Decided I'd post a few pictures of the Bayer team in case people can't recognise them on the pitch.
