Hi, just looking for some suggestions or advice re: fitness while maintaining weight.

I'm 24, female, 5"6 and 8 stone 5 pounds so I am bordering on underweight and in any case I really don't want to lose any more weight, I wouldn't even mind putting on a few pounds. However I do want to exercise and improve my fitness.

I do bikram yoga/normal yoga/pilates 2-3 times a week but also want to start some proper cardio to get fitter.

Ideally I don't want to just go to a gym and use the equipment but if thats the best way I will. Running or jogging doesn't interest me at all & I know I wouldn't do it!

Ideally I would prefer a class. I was thinking of starting spinning but would that cause me to lose weight as well as increase my fitness? Or can you only lose weight if you have it to lose?

    Thanks for any advice :)

It's really just as simple as eating enough food to fuel the additional exercise!! :)

That makes sense, thanks, but the thing is that I do eat, loads! I must just have a very fast metabolism, I eat really healthy breakfast, lunch & dinner, and then crap like biscuits, ice cream etc in between. I'm vegetarian so my diet might be naturally low in fat. I've been trying to put on weight recently so I've been eating more and it hasn't help, I lost weight! So maybe should get checked out medically.

But yeh for now I'll give more cardio exercising a go & eat more to try conteract any calorie burning and keep an eye on the scales! Thanks

Where do you live? Folks might be able to suggest a good class to go to if they know this.

I do KB classes and think they are great for general fitness...

Post up your full diet for a typical day roweeeeena, then we can see if you really are eating as much as you think. Lots of people think they eat loads but rarely are.

So your goal is really to build some muscle, right? Doing only cardio might not be best way for that.
And most importantly you need enough protein and healthy fats in your diet to build anything.
