    When is this being launched?

My neighbour works in a BMW franchise. He's had one for the last couple of days. I didn't know it was available yet

It was taxed but no insurance displayed. Maybe its a garage demo?

Your mam brings home a different car every day. Some sweet ones. Just never seen him take something this expensive home with him!

    Sure it's not a badged up 520d ? :D

If my neighbour brought home a new M5 i'd forgive his stupid barking all night dog :)

It's already launched. I've seen 2 on the road and there's a few dealers that have them.

Our neighbours are similar expect mine brings home M5s.

I had a good snoop around it this morning. Defo not a 520d! That was 6 in the morning so hopefully he didn't call the guards

Did it happen to look a bit like this one, that's being driven by the head man in BMW Ireland at the moment?

Doesn't have any. Piece of sh1t. That'll put a lot of potential buyers off.

Don't think you can get foglights for the M5 - looked at this a few years ago and it was explained by the dealer that these were the air intake positions?

I told him to keep it - I'd buy me a Civic instead.

Yeah, it only came in with the E60

"Front fog lights are unavailable for the M5, as the amount of air required to cool the brakes under spirited driving applications requires the spaces under the bumper, normally occupied by fog lights in other E60 cars, to be reallocated for air cooling ducts."

An obscene amount of money,if i was in the market for an M5 i'd rather pay 30k ish for an E60 M5.

Drove it the other day:D Lovely car - the most noticeable thing is how comfortable it is, and how it really is an everyday car with supercar performance. It does however lack the drama of the V10 E60, and the noise.

Shut up moaning man, you've got two pictures of two new M5's that other people went to the trouble of uploading and your still bitching. If you want to see the back and sides of the new M5 get off your hole and go to Joe Duffys yourself.

It's £73k list and to match the spec I would say you could easily bring that up to £80k, or €96. It's still not worth €144k, especially when you know you could probably pick it up in 3yrs for 70k, or 5yrs for 40k ish

Price had assumed a 5% + discount on UK list which should be attainable now or in a few months at least. What options would that have other than paint as it should have everything as standard being the highest 5 series model?
Cant see anyone giving 70 for a 3 year old one more like 55 or so.

Awful, awful colour, and an absolutely ridiculous price.

I'll have mine in grey please, in 10 years time.

I would guess a turbocharged V8 of some sort.

Nice car by the way, but not as good looking as an E39 M5. Not even close.

    Twin turbo 4.4l V8.

E34 was yer only man, none of your stupid vents in M-only body panels, and ridiculous quad exhausts. A true sleeper.

Ah, I see it now, it's teensy weensy.

Are those alloys tyres combo standard M5 or is it aftermarket ?

Either way, they'll not last too long on bumpy Irish roads.

With the tints, alloys, and colour, the whole thing looks a bit pre-skangered already.

Very disappointing. M5's used to be a bit special.

They look like aftermarket ones, but I believe they are genuine.

That's for sure. The car is designed to be used on roads known to its designers ;). Anyway, you can choose to drive it gently by trying to avoid potholes and that kind of stuff.

You do realise that all 3 of those things are customer preference? You can get one with a grey man spec finish if you want.

I on the other hand like showboating good cars, none of this sleeper fade to the background malarkey for me thanks. Now I need to check the weather as I want to paint my car orange.

Dayglo is for Lambos MS; pastels for kustoms; candy apples for yank tanks. After that you just look like a saddo with bad taste. :)

Its an ugly duckling though all in all spec or not. Anyone drooling over that needs their vision checked.
Also M5s were all about being low key supercars, a fact lost on BMW in recent times.

I have never seen BMW say anywhere that M cars are supposed to be low key supercars or even low key to begin with. They are just a high spec 3/5/6 series car.

And I love the new 5 series. Even in standard form it looks nice. But with the M-tech kit it's nicer than the e39 IMO. Personally don't see the big fuss about the E39.
